i thought about this:

1 atg with ap rounds 5pop
1 m8 with mg and mine and repair 8pop
1 mortar 4pop
1 jeep 3pop

pop in total: 25

The most noob US start is 3x M8's.

and the most simple.

If u want simple and effective, go

1 x rifle with bar + sticky
1 x upgun sherman (mg not required)
1 x hmg
1 x atg (ap rounds if needed)

Best simple start is 2x atgs, 2x rifles, 1x mg, 1x flamer w/mines. Upgrades are up to you, you don't REALLY need AP rounds since you have 2 atgs, though you'll wish you had them if you see a panther or heavier. Rifles, I'd go with BAR on one, and nades on the other, depends on whether you plan to recrew support weapons you kill. MG, might as well get AP rounds just in case.

Simple, direct, no real micro, set up atgs, set up mg, you can take on any tanks, LVs, mine your flanks, you can flank with rifles and flamer, it's a great start, and anyone should be able to manage it, all the need to know is how to attack a position from two sides which is coh 101, send one rifle in front of flank, send other rifle and flamer from the side. Only big problem is facing support weapon spam, or a sniper start.

Another great start is this:

croc, atg w/ap, 2x rifles 1x sticky, 2x nades. Just rush the enemy, kill any at first with nades and croc, keep atg behind to take out incoming armor, if armor comes to flank atg, sticky it, use nades to kill everything fast, since they are rifles with just nades it's great to take any support weapons you find, ESPECIALLY that atg you just recrewed, because they will want to bring up armor for your croc more than likely. Only problem would be dual shcrecks, panther, or anything like that.

And last but not least, 1x atg w/ AP rounds, 4x rifles w/ various upgrades. Used to do this start with my armor company, scout and find the opponent who doesn't start with a tank, attack from two sides, nade the hell out of everything.

croc, atg

Why are you buying BAR + sticky? Or more importantly, why BAR + grenade?!

BAR + Grenade seems to be overkill vs inf. You should either just use BAR, or just grenade. You need every bit of MU you can get if you're gonna use elite inf in your coy, or spend the extra MU on mines.

If you need a BAR + sticky, you're getting too close to enemy tanks, and if you need a grenade with BAR's (On the same squad), then you're probably going to die horribly anyway Tongue.

Just my 2c!

Because bars don't do shit to units in buildings.

They also won't do shit to a oak squad without a nade.

Riflemen with bars or nades are both fucked against oaks, you'd be mad to stay anywhere near them unless you have...

wait for it...
