The ageold question of why ATGs still hit tanks through smoke.

Why? -

Tanks are fucking big!

Though on the effectiveness of blitz smoke, some players swear this is great for covering a infantry assault instead.

88 loses its accuracy in smoke, I say 57mms and 6pdrs and paks should too

Everything loses accuracy through smoke.

Considering the scatter angle for most ATGs are so small, even if the shot misses, the shot will scatter into the target anyways.
The 88 is different cause I think it primarly scatters downward which is why it shoots the ground alot through smoke, but you notice it doesnt scatter left or right at all so those that get through will hit.

You forgot RR's. They're great through smoke. all grenade types as well.

AVRE, All Artillery, 95mm & Stuh ( i think), G-Wagon, Marder & 50mm have same properties as ATG's that their scatter is small enuff to not matter.

Bitch please, Sure all of the other ones hit due to "low scatter" and being Arc based units as you said but Marders cant hit a KingTiger if it was infront of them in smoke

You want to Defend anything in Smoke build a Tank trap or a Roadblock in front of it. Problem solved. Anything + Tank Trap = even dead RR squad. They roll technical misses and scatter into obstacles.

i built a tactic of CCT smoke then charge with croc to put big hurt on paks... then i noticed every fucking pak shot still hit... i might as well say fuck all to the smoke and just keep doing the same of hulling down in front of it.

is there a reason (from a gaming perspective) as to why atgs still hit through smoke?

i guess the cct smoke and croc works if im attacking hand held at of some sort.

I guess the point is so that smoke is supereffective. Think about it, smoke currently, is rather very cheap to use and can be very effective with the right builds. If it got buffed more smoke armies would be a bigger issue and many people would need to gear towards fighting that, with PE at the lowest due to having only flamenades and AT nades as a cheap anti-smoke solution, with mortars and goliaths backing them up.

the spread aint large enough if you are sitting directly infront of the ATG bro...
