Chaffee has essentially an Upgun Tetratch main gun and a rapid reload (5 seconds) to boot. AFAIK It still has it's utterly ridiculous speed (8 Speed) and it's now 40 sight range. The thing is a self contained medium armour hunter for 90 Fuel.

Checking the penetrations, it looks like it has more or less Pershing penetration -10% here and there. 0.7 modifier against PIV, 0.45 against Tiger, 0.4 against Panther, 0.6 against StuG...

Yeah, I'd say that qualifies as best LV in the game atm.

My only gripe is the over reaction to it's AI capability. Reducing the splash was all that was needed, not kicking the accuracy against infantry in the nuts too.

Assuming that Tank Commander is working for it and does what the label says, the standard sight is 30, and it adds 10.

Christ knows where that tank commander is buried in the RGD's though.

Interesting, I saw that the extended sight was set to true and wondered if that would override it's standard sight.

In which case, assuming the tank commander works thats 45 sight, which is even better.

Leo, since you are the RGD guru, can you look into the Chaffee there with what Hicks said? I do not believe it is as good as he says it to be, and I run 7 of those things.

The tank is pretty much a more expensive and less effective M8. I've had the gun bounce off hotchkisses (Tet penetration, eh?) and it totally missed infantry way too much. And with its reduced health still dies way too fast. Threw most of them away and just went with a M8 (as much as I hate util cars) since I get a 50 cal, more HP, and its gun can actually hit infantry.

Wouldn't a better compromise be to change the Chaffee gun into a Cromwell gun? That way its not as powerful as the splash 75mm sherman gun, and it still wouldn't be wtfowning a P4 or something from the front like a normal sherman can do, but it would be decent against inf and a useful flanking vehicle?
