no, they're actually serious.  They think the country is going to the shitter and THEY WILL SAVE IT FROM THOSE LIBERAL FUCKS.  It makes me so sad talking to conservatives.  Normal, rational, somewhat intelligent people become complete fucking idiots when you bring up politics.

The good thing about international forums is that every single time...candidates...bring up Europe in a national televised debate, entire threads fill up with sarcastic comments sent by those atheist socialist Europeans. Probably sitting on a death panel as they type.

Actually, I'm fairly certain that's illegal over here. And it would probably get you sent to hell afterwards.

The amount of double think and hypocrisy that comes from most hard core conservative's mouths is just appalling.

For instance, I know quite a few that are abjectly against abortion, but wont think twice about a pre-emptive nuke strike on Iran.

Not that this is a conservative bash because I find the exact same problem with ultra liberals, but it just seems as if they are all sheeple. They don't think for themselves and as such they get directed by those who do think.

This can ultimately be a very dangerous thing. If certain members of my family got were elected president, i'm quite sure half the world would be dead. Tongue

Not entirely on topic but whatever

This is why you can't have nice things. I mean gay marriage being against the bible, WHO THE FUCK CARES. US politics remind me of the middle ages sometimes when I see what they're discussing, when there's surely far more important matters. How about you let people marry whatever the fuck they want to marry? While I agree the double think is running rampant on both sides of the political spectrum, I'm honestly more bothered with the 'conservative' end of it all.

I'm glad at least the tea party seems to finally be dying out. You want 'SMALL OR NO GOVERNMENT' and FREEDOM, yet the government should prevent gay people from marrying one another? Oh gee, how convenient.

P.S I've been checking out the west wing lately, love that series.

Don't forget the massive amounts of tax dollars that should go to the army, and nothing to healthcare ^^.

Demon posession is real and it's not funny, it's the creepiest thing you will ever experience.

I would also like to add I watch fox news everyday all day and will continue to watch it while being proud of that fact. I'm sure you enjoy your communist news network just as much.

Well religion is just fucking retarded to begin with, so anyone who uses religion to dictate policy is a fucktard. Unfortunately America is made up of mostly religious people, so the rest of us who have a brain have to deal with the stupidity that comes from those beliefs. On another note I think it's funny when people hop on the bandwagon and bash things just because everyone else is doing it. Like for instance "Fox News". Now I know they are for one view point but EVERY news channel is for one side or another most of them being liberal controlled. So when ONE new's station goes conservative it get's bashed hard by the liberals who feel but hurt by what they say. Then you have the dumb fucks who don't really have any political beliefs themselves see them getting bashed is the "cool thing to do" mostly because the majority of women are liberal and they want to be within their good graces, join in on this activity. I'm just glad that I can think for myself, while being able to look outside the box, weed through all the bullshit and see the truth. I'm not conservative, I'm not liberal, I'm from the "Shit that just makes too much damn sense to be feasible" party.

More is spent on social welfare than the DoD (all branches + buerocrats) by far. What we need is better regulation of our welfare programs to prevent abuse and funnel money to those who really need it.

News networks don't have a true conservative or liberal bias. They have a profit bias. They'll report whatever gets people to watch. In Fox News' case, they put a conservative spin on everything to get the portion of the country that's selfish and paranoid to tune in. MSNBC puts on people like Rachel Maddow to reel in the other portion. They both have a target audience which consists of people who are self-righteous and indignant.

This is bad for everybody because people will naturally watch the programs that confirm what they already suspect while ignoring (for the most part) the other side of the story. There is no market for the minority of people who would very much like to get a simple non-biased account of the facts. It also exacerbates the problem of general ignorance among the majority of the population which is too apathetic to actually learn about a topic. They'll tune in to a random 24hr news network and take what they hear as truth.

You want to blame something for the currently pathetic state of political discourse in the US? Blame 24hr news networks.

Sorry for that tangent. I was scrolling through and saw "Fox News" a couple times and felt compelled to chime in.

As for conservatives in general... It just bothers me when someone can be so uncaring for other human beings. It takes a real tiny dick to say "nuke Iran, fuck anyone who lives there", or "Lost your job? Too fucking bad" and truly mean it. They always think complex problems only require the simplest of solutions without ever thinking of what those simple solution's would truly entail. "Cut taxes", "nuke em", "de-regulate", "more religion", "less welfare", "zero tolerance", "smaller government", etc etc.

Well said Mal.

OR Because the liberal base is PRO gay marriage? (And not as backwards as most american religious voters out there) I don't think liberals are pro marriage just because republicans are against, that's honestly a stupid thing to say.

I didn't say it was the media's fault that people were ignorant. I said they make it worse. People who are ignorant, but THINK they know the truth are more dangerous than people who are just ignorant. People who know they are ignorant don't generally vote.

It's the media's fault that political discourse is they way it is though.
