I read a review and they said it was a major dissapointment.
Fun game but not at all what they hoped it would've been.

Shut up fools this game rockz!
I second that motion.
I've been in the beta for quite some time and so far, it's been a blast.
It's a lot like any other roleplaying game, particularly Diablo. Kill mobs, get loot with which you kill stronger mobs to acquire more powerful loot which you kill more powerful mobs, rinse, repeat.
I'll be getting the game on the 31st when it comes out, but it does feel rough and rushed around the edges, and (while it is not required) they're offering more online shinanigans for a monthly fee, 10 dollars.
So I'm sitting here thinking, should I spend 10 dollars on a true mmo, like world of warcraft, or spend 10 dollars on this heavily instanced guild wars thingamajic for;
1. Hardcore mode, which is basically nightmare in diablo, something that is free in all other games, but for some odd reason isn't in Hellgate.
2. Elite mode, which is the same as playing a normal game, 'cept when you die, you die permanently, masochistic if you ask me.
3. While normal people get 3 character slots, subscribers get 24... yes Twenty-Four. 3 vs 24, a bit ovekill don't you think?
4. Your "locker" ( think storage ) will be doubled, and shared between your characters.
5. Apparently "new content that will be released" will be automatically yours... I'm left wondering what is this super awesome content that I'll get for my 10 dollars. Do note this excludes expansion packs.
... In truth, I'll probably be getting a double cheese pepperoni pizza with cream garlic and a coke for my 10 dollars instead.

It's not worth 10 dollars, that's for sure.
You can have the subscription on a real MMO for that money.

They released a press statement 2 days ago that everyone will get the new content that gets releases, even without paying the fee. Dont know what points are meant exactly, but sounds good. But the ability to have a shared locker is strong.
DBSights, since you are experienced with the chars, can you give me a skill breakdown and your oppinion about them? FPS is fun, but i'm propably gonna go guardian first. Not sure though...

Does anyone know anything of the 3 classes that are probably going to be released through subscribtion? So far i heard of a Crusader, Shapeshifter and a Recon. I'm especially interested in the Crusader and what kind of skills he would have...

Your wrong, Elite mode is 'level 4' so if you start a normal char youj can play difficult levels 1-3, and you get 1-3 for free, or you can start an Elite char at level 4, and play difficulty levels 4-6
Also hardcore mode is a One-Life Perma Death thing
levels 1-3 are Free
You can get All loot as a free player, unless a new item tyep is added, they have promised that nothing will IMBA pvp
Also im rather sure (note, no proof but a feeling) every expasion pack will give you the the subscription stuff before it
and you made a great point...10 bucks is the cost of one nice Meal, worth it IMHO
