Installation:

Extract the archive to your Company of Heroes directory making sure that the EuropeInRuins.module file is placed in the root of your Company of Heroes directory and a subdirectory called EuropeInRuins is created.

Create a copy of your Company of Heroes shortcut and modify it so that the end of it looks like this:

RelicCOH.exe" -modname EuropeInRuins

MAKE SURE YOU SELECT THE 'EUROPE IN RUINS' VICTORY CONDITION WHEN LAUNCHING A GAME!

Notes:
This is an old alpha release with built-in companies based on the old Company Creation threads in this forum.  Your company will be randomly selected for you.  This  is made for multiplayer only however the AI will sometimes play decently on hard/expert.

This was the final release in the first phase of testing, many things have been re-done since this version.

The next release will be including a new spawning system which includes the ability to call in your units as you want (individually or in groups, called platoons).  In addition, the online web purchasing system and matchup system will be activated.

You can play via Relic Online or via Hamachi.  The channel we normally use on Relic Online is Dieppe.

Gameplay:
Objective 1:
You must capture/hold the following number of territory sectors based on the amount of players.

1v1: 3
2v2: 4
3v3: 5
4v4: 6

This means your team must always be holding 6 sectors in a 4v4 in order to keep from being defeated.

Objective 2:
You can choose to hold your ground and setup defenses, or venture out to capture more territory.  The goal is to capture enough territory to force your opponent into losing based on Objective 1, or annihilate his forces.

Other Gameplay Information:
If your company has a halftrack and manpower assigned you can reinforce from it, otherwise there is no way to reinforce so take care of your troops.  If your company has munitions assigned, use them for abilities.  Fuel was used for buildings in this release.

FAQ:

I don't get it, what's the point?
Basically, all you are getting is a small taste of the gameplay, one objective without unit persistency.  Europe In Ruins will feature additional objectives, most notably attack/defend, and persistent units which means your squads can gain veterancy over a multitude of fights, assuming they stay alive.  Let's not forget that you will also be fighting over Europe, this is simply one battle in a large war.

When will you be releasing the next version?
I hope by next Friday.  My initial plan is to have the next version in hands of our alpha testers by Saturday night, then let them work with it and the online purchasing system until next Friday.

Where can I get more details?
Check out the preliminary manual.  It's posted as a sticky in this forum.

Have you made any balance changes?
No, unless where necessary.  This is vCOH 1.5 balance.  We will be using vanilla balance in our modification until it's apparent someone has done it better (ie GR.org's Battle Test) or we move to incorporate a modification into our system, Fortress Europe, Offensive Operations, etc...

Will this affect my ability to play other COH mods or vanilla COH?
Absolutely not, simply use the correct shortcut to launch whichever version of COH you'd like to play.

Where are all the tanks?
The resource allotments for these companies were quite low, so most players didn't have the funds to purchase them.
