Hi all,
I have a small question that probably is a bit obvious, but I've only joined since the OF patch, so I actually never could play EiR to find it out, though I am a CoH player dying to play EiR with you guys.
My question is about the gameplay, I know that alot of people say that they want the gametype back where you have to defend something - so does the current version (which doesn't work because the patch anyway) actually hasn't got that gametype?
Anyway, thanks in advance,
Tharulerme

The gameplay in the last version of eir was an attack and defend gametype. The defender got 3 minutes to set up defences and cap the map and then the attacker got to start.
The winners were decided by a victory point system where the team with the least controlled sectors had there points ticking down (the attackers started with more points)

Yeah, I know that gametype, but what I mean is do you also have objectives like defend the town or defend the squad or something? Because I heard that people wanted that sort of gametype "back", so does it mean that it was included in any of the previous EiR versions? Because if I'm right the current gameplay is just someone attacking the opposing faction with a time limit (60 minutes was it, right?) and if they win they gain a territory, and if the defenders win then the attacker wasted his troops But in the end it's just basically fighting eachother.

Currently, it all depends on the maps. There are a few objective based maps, but most involve front line combat.
Until Cozmo gets our S.C.A.R. coded missions working, we are stuck with those maps for objective based game play.

Well there are a few maps with territory sectors in key points and most of the map uncapturable. This means that you have to concentrate on the areas with territory sectors.

So if I get it right it's Objective BASED but not really Objective yet.
Well EiR seems nice to me in any possible way, nice variation for CoH, so I'm eager to play it.

It's a lot more different than you think really. And a lot more fun than you can imagine it to be .

There are not words to describe how intense games of EiR can be. The only way to know is to play the game.

Nah, there were no objectives in lambert. It is a sector map where you cap more sectors in order to begin the VP ticker, then the enemy starts to lose the game. A lot of pushing is done in the city, since it has several sectors.
