The title was meant mainly to get attention. The warmap is cool, but I don't really care about it; I just want pps. Can we just have it be normal again with pps? The warmap can have an effect on resource advantages... I just want to play with cool units because I can't grind EIR every day of the week. Thanks.

Condor - that's the point. You can literally not play and still get PPs - as long as other people are playing. It'll just take a bit longer, and I for one am quite happy with the slow movement of it all.

If you like it, that's ok... but I don't. You don't have to explain why it is the way that it is, I'm just saying that I would personally rather just say SCREW IT, and play with cool stuff. I would rather not wait forever for pps to stack up.

Cool stuff?

Were playing without 88 Doom Forts every other game, or any other number of bullshit late game doctrines.

This is where the shit's at. The early game.

Then go play OMG. People complained about stuff going to quickly. This is how EiR always functioned and how EiRR was meant to function. You have phases of the War, right now we're at the start.

The Warmaps been here what... 3 days? IF that, and the Americans already have 50pp.

I'm afraid not, the mechanic is likely there to stay.

This is the first ever implementation of the warmap though, I'm not sure what eirrmod benchmarked a full duration of a war at, but surely 3 days in T1 gameplay is nothing? The rate at which factions gain points, and the war progresses is obviously all tentative. In addition, once more warmap mechanics come into play, the warmap will become exponentially more fun and thus something you will definitely want to 'care about'.

Give it time.

Then come back when the PPs are enough for you to play with all the 'cool stuff'.

Its not that way now, because its day *2* of the new war.

Day... TWO.

With the above being said, one thing I did bring up in the past is that there probably should be a side-grind, this because i.e players that play A LOT of games are going to be discouraged in this system because they do not really reap any benefits from it. (Like they did in the grinding days) A side-grind would allow those very active players to be perhaps several points above their peers. (Giving them for example one doctrine ability extra)

It's socialism really (Massacree would be happy to hear this), those who work the hardest towards a faction's progression don't get anything extra for it currently. (You could argue those people grinding games will have more veterancy, though that is not necessarily going to be the case as well)

Of course, don't forget those 'hardcore' players will also get some other benefits when other warmap mechanics come into play.

At the rate it was going last time I checked, the war might be over way before the warmap actually ends... Just because it would be hard to get people motivatied to fight with a 200ish PP dissadvantage.

There really needs to be some way to disscourage the better players from forming up massive stacks on one side or the other, it'll swing the game one way or another way to fast, at least that's how it looks right now.

And thing is, the better players are the ones that are least likely to switch side to get an even game or something like that, the players that'll be willing to do so are the same ones that would get stacked against.

But yeah, give it some time... Personally it's hard to get a stable connection were I am right now so I wont be playing to much this weekend.

There was a slight bug for the last two days, which would award a Overwhelming victory to every Axis win, regardless of it being Narrow, Normal or actually Overwhelming.

Thus, all those points got boosted.
I'll leave it for now, as I want to see how the warmap mechanics work- and the next war should be more fair.

EiR's tendancy towards stacking just gets magnified with the Warmap. Good players are generally friends with other good players, and they play together. Then three randoms join, get torn apart, and the winning team reaps the rewards of PPs (over time, at least, with the warmap). As X team gains an advantage, more players move to that side, and the losing team loses motivation to try. The stacks become more one sided and it keeps going until everything slides off a sheer cliff face. I'm not saying that that's what's happening, but that's what the tendancy leans towards. I can admit that I don't really play anymore because I don't have anyone to stack with, and I don't want to play against stacks anymore. I'm tired of getting my shit pushed in and getting no reward out of it. I get raped, and immidiately brought in to fill the last slot in a game I know I'm probably going to lose. It's not fun, and there's no motive to play it--and I'd assume that most other players feel the same way.

It's not really related to the bug as much as the allies are clearly pulling ahead, at least as I saw yesterday. As he said, good players play together most of the time. Personally I'll play if a friend is on vent but I mostly join random games myself, I just avoid two certain dodgers for their attitudes Wink

Thing is thou, it's going to get hard to motivate the randoms to play the dissadvantaged side when they have much less of a stake in the warmap, and once a side does have a momentum it'll be incredibly hard to swing it back. Hell, I've had enough "Down the the last callin" games to know that just 300mp and 100 extra fuel can decide enough games to make a difference...

Basically, what I meant was it's very possible people might give up on playing the losing side even on the first week. Hopefully it doesnt but, you know how people are.

It would have to differentiate stacks and non stacks, if anyone here remembers playing CoHO in a team..2v2's with a decent teammate lol, Pretty much undefeated since most often you'd be up against two people matched randomly.

My only concern, is that its quite obvious that there are less PE players on the WM, and i know that PE takes more losses Points wise then everybody else becuase thier units are worth more dead for some odd reason (maybe becuase everything they have is vehicles) and i know PE is going to be behind on the pp curve, its just frustration.
