Okey, who advertised the mod?
I wont be mad, i just want to know who did it so we can all have our tiny circlejerk of a community and not have to worry about new players.

On other notes who advertised for the mod?
There are like buttload of new players around and its getting kinda tiring to have to teach them the basics over and over again.

I am not posting this as a joke, there are like a Metric Fuckton, A FUCKTON of new players and the only thing most players want to do is to stack against them instead of helping them.

I have really notice an increase in new players as well. Not sure what prompted it, but it's great to see.

I think the other thing we are seeing is they are sticking around a bit. I contribute this largely in part to the lack of dickheads in the community right now. Most of the guys that just stomped newbs and treated them like shit are gone and playing something else instead.

This is exactly what we need right now. Some new blood with better attitudes creating a positive community and mod growth.

I have been seeing quite the upturn in the amount of players lately, and also the quality of new players as well.

Hopefully I will have the project that I want to get done so hopefully we can attract even more players .

Dailydose is the prime example of how the EiRR community tends to treat people.

If you have more than two braincells to rub together, we like you. If you struggle pressing next on an installer, the majority of the community will use you as target practice.

Cruel, nasty, but sadly that's how it goes. Then again, this is a high learning curve mod - A base level of intelligence is required.

Telling the EiRR community to be nice to the nubs is like telling school kids to be nice to the new fat kid. About 1 in 30 in the classroom will understand why you are asking, and the rest will pretend to nod their heads then throw little paper balls at him/her when the teacher aint looking. The two solutions are to teach 29 kids how to not be piranhas, or tell the new kid to stop being fat.

Insert a dozen other metaphors until you get the point.

I mean I know Obama was the first one in EiR to get a card. and tbfh the Race card is pretty OP. but Romney has the K.K.K., those guys seem to camo anywhere. So OP units from both sides.
At the end of the day, however, stormtroopers finally got the anal invasion with a cactus they have richly deserved for years.

Doesn't make it acceptable Hicks. What you have posted just further encourages the dick heads by reaffirming their actions.

Definitely, though needless to say the mod doesn't score to well on user friendliness. Because of that, we heavily rely on our community not to be dicks to new players. (Which in itself is I guess, ignorant of us, lol)

The community is always nice to the new guys but EIR hosts the competitive elite and not everyone is willing to lose most of their games until they become decent after a few thousand games.

the question is, how long do they will stay? A raise of new players was not unusual for EIRR but as usual as the reduction of the same after a certain time afterwards.

Bullying on any level in any environment is a sign of insecurity and social ineptness.

Explaining something is not an excuse for it Tank.

Understanding the problem is the first step on the way to solving it, and I've put forward two potential solutions. I've also pointed out how relatively difficult said solutions are.

Either fix the majority problem, or fix the minority problem. I suspect that with the complexity of EiRR the solution is going to be somewhere on the middle ground though...

The best solution is to make Ventrilo a requirement to run EIR. That way new guys can get to know the community and get instructions and help easier. A lot of the new players don't get vent and for that they feel excluded. That along with losing a lot of games and only reading the troll chat where everyone is raging, cursing and saying things like "you suck" etc. Not very encouraging.

Not sure if real or just a bug.
It's a bit suspicious that a topic which is 5 days old gets over one thousand clicks, while a another topic on the frontpage is around 4 month old and has not even 200 clicks.
