The rocking thing is literally the engine being retarded. Anytime anything "important" happens that may affect pathing (yay new wreck, enemy tank decided to make a turn, etc.) the engine feels it has an obligation to re-calculate the path-logic of every single thing on the map lest disaster might somehow strike.

You'll notice this most on greyhounds just after you kill something useless like a schwimwaggen. They'll pull back a full 10 CoH metres (or more) before restarting on their merry way. You don't want to know what they do after they hound down a panther.

So there is no way you can avoid it during the course of the game? Bummer.  Undecided

so basically hicks, you issue a move command, the engine calculates, you issue an attack command, the engine recalculates and sometimes it bugs out

Dafuq man, don't ask for proof if you'll refuse it if it's not in your favor, logic fallacy for the bloody win.

Nope.

This is where ya have to realise CoH is a pretty old engine these days (Relatively speaking).

I mean I know Obama was the first one in EiR to get a card. and tbfh the Race card is pretty OP. but Romney has the K.K.K., those guys seem to camo anywhere. So OP units from both sides.
At the end of the day, however, stormtroopers finally got the anal invasion with a cactus they have richly deserved for years.

Tym - basically, yup. I also think it's to do with the way CoH syncs games. I don't remember the "rocking" issue to be quite so grand in single player.

Admittedly I've only really noticed the issue in one of the more "Recent" patches though tbh.

Perhaps they accidentally goofed something along the lines?

Yeah, I've never seen it in SP, only online so im sure it has to do with syncing.

The way to avoid it by clicking attack When you are certain you are in range. If you hit attack just as u come in range then it gets royally fucked, so make sure you allow for some time to get into range.

Personally i just flat out refuse attack orders with tanks during persuit. Until you are circle strafing them.
