So I just casually scrolled through the update to the subscriber agreement today. You know, the one that you are supposed to read in its entirety and accept before you can use steam.

And I saw this:
"SECTION 12 CONTAINS A BINDING ARBITRATION AGREEMENT AND CLASS ACTION WAIVER. IT AFFECTS YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS. PLEASE READ IT. IF YOU LIVE OUTSIDE OF THE UNITED STATES, SOME OR ALL OF SECTION 12 MIGHT NOT APPLY TO YOU."

Was this there before? It's hard to tell because the norm is to make the costumers read the ENTIRE agreement again instead of just what is new in it. I call this practice fucking criminal and disgusting but that's the way it is and how it's going to stay. As if those legal contracts aren't difficult and time-consuming enough to read through once...

Anyway, does anyone know if this binding arbitration apply to Europeans? And does anyone else think that binding arbitration should be illegal?

Demon posession is real and it's not funny, it's the creepiest thing you will ever experience.

I would also like to add I watch fox news everyday all day and will continue to watch it while being proud of that fact. I'm sure you enjoy your communist news network just as much.

I believe it was said by some EU court that it is not valid for Europeans and people were supposed to be able to sell the games they bought.

Nothing changed. Let me summarize for you: "You have no rights to anything, Valve can do whatever they want."

Let me explain how it works. The media industry doesn't want to adapt to new technology. So instead they just blame piracy even though people don't mind paying for media, they just want efficiency. The few companies that have adapted like Steam, Itunes and Spotify are largely successful and since they dominate the market they can just shit on customer laws and that's why piracy is growing, because of the lack of good alternatives.

My advice is to use Green Man Gaming since you can:
1: Buy steam keys.
2: Pay in Dollars. (initial prices are lower as well)
3: Get discounts (up to 25%).
4: Trade-in games and get half your money back once you get bored of them (not steam games).
5: Get credit for referring friends. If your friend buys a game worth more than 2$ with your referral link then both of you will get 2$ credit.
6: Some days they give out free copies of a game (which you can then trade in for a few dollars credit).
7: Get refunds.

Sharks are not monsters Henley, they are cute, cuddly and misunderstood. They love humans. sometimes they love TOO much. They love people so much that sometimes their kisses separate people into two flailing pieces which are consumed by other sharks in a frenzy of peace and joy.

What's important is that services like spotify or steam becomes the norm and your licenses tradeable, once we're there I'm excited to see what people will signal is the next logical step in the development of media distribution.

1 of the most outdated ideas of the media distribution is that people are supposed to buy their own copy of something a friend have, their line of thinking when taken to its full range is that everyone at the party should be licensed to listen to a song and that every 3 of your friends at home with you need to own the same movie to watch it together.

Physical proximity is one part of it, the thing is that humans share ideas they like cause they want other people to enjoy or learn the same thing they did, and a full taxation of this is just unreasonable

How do you pay in dollars? My steam by default is in euro since I am in Europe.

You can use a proxy, but if you do your steam account will be banned =)
