Game recently put up on Steam Greenlight for voting. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=95094343&searchtext=Starshiphttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LNkoPrlvs3Qhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=qvWPMH2u75Ehttp://www.starshipcorporation.com/game/overview/There is an Alpha build up on their website which runs you through a basic ship design portion. Starship Corporation is a Realtime Strategy Game that contains 4 Elements:
Ship Design Crew and AI Tactics Ship Building and Trade
The player is able to create the layout for Spaceships and Planetary Installations with multiple decks within the boundaries of existing fuselages. He can choose between (currently) 50 Room types in 6 categories . A completed Design can then be challenged by playing a series of missions to test the crews reaction to emergencies and the ships combat capabilities. The success of these missions determines the ships rating, important for a good price on the market or the ships performance in your own fleet.

Or board an enemy vessel?
Cargo bays and Hangars are the only entrance points in the game. part of the challenge is designing a functional ship with certain considerations in mind. Feasibility of defense is one of those.

Although sadly the alpha is pretty much impossible as you cant really build a functional ship with a crew of 25

Yeah it's weird. In the tutorial he manages it. I imagine some numbers have probably changed.
The engine room alone is 7 techs, a medium generator is 2, a large is 3. Each Air/water tank is 1. It adds up quickly.

Yeah, I can't get past the first design. It's just borderline impossible :S.

Actually, filling the crew limits IS impossible, the tutorial video has different tech requirements than the alpha

considering how I spend all my days designing spacecraft I should probably look into this.
edit: I would NEVER put doors on a fuel tank. on that pic above.

Well no sane person would.
but from the gameplay perspective it's for moving technicians and troops through the ships.
You also need an entrance to fight a fire. I don't think he's got support for venting atmosphere to extinguish fires yet(or maybe not planned)

Oh those of limited view if i get boarded instead of venting atmosphere i will open the fuel doors and flood this ship. last ensign out gets to light the match!

Honestly, for something like a local system transport ship I'd rather opt for at least keeping some fueltanks external rather than keeping them all located centrally within the ship.
Not only can a small ship barely fit the equipment, if it's running without shielding or arms there would be no point in fighting back to begin with, thus no real point in keeping the tanks very protected. In case of critical emergency the external tanks could be jettisoned. Of course, keeping some spare fuel internally to make it to a repair/resupply planet. After all, if your ship is unarmed and not all that fast it doesn't really matter how deep in the tanks are, the ship wont hold long anyway.
But again, that assumes a low risk, cheap local transport vessel. like the first one you're supposed to build in the game.

Exposed tanks on the exterior? You do realize that enemies aren't the only things ships must contend with in space... On a side note, I like the little Alien reference in the screenshot there.

I like how all the in-combat chatter has been ripped from Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear.
