Ok, question, I didnt have a forum account on the CoH page before, but i thought when i registered for the Alpha key that they would make an account for me anyway. But i cant login with that email address. Do i need to make a new account or just wait even longer? And if i make a new account, i would need a new name, since mine seems to be taken already(or is that my alpha account that i have no access to?).

Not even close to DoW2.

Everything is taken from DoW2. The engine is the same, how units look and feel, the terrain, the cover system, the interface, the veterancy, the way maps are structured, suppression, building defenses, even the gameplay. It's so much like DoW2 and so little like COH.

Indeed, the same way DOW2 was modeled on the COH engine.

But DOW2 was Fail and COH2 will be similar fail

CoH was the first title to use the essence engine.

DoW2 uses 2.0. CoH 2 uses 3.0.

Now you're just trolling. Because everything you said there can be exchanged for DoW2 being like CoH. CoH was the first to use a proper cover system, a fleshed out suppression system(DoW1 had basic cover and suppression) Ultimately the games will be close in nature, however they both play differently and the only real complaint to CoH2 thus far is short length of the Infantry stage.

Dude, DOW2 is a whole different feeling. CoH2 is not like that. Its better, it took all the good things and left out all the bad things.

Even if you somehow don't see the resemblance to DOW2, the gameplay is still miles away from COH. The only thing it has in common are some of the unit names. They changed TOO much.

COH has this aspect of large scale. You have open fields, a lot of cover. In DOW2 all that is lost, there is less cover and open fields because maps are linear and small. Cover and flanking are relatively unimportant compared to unit abilities. This is exactly how COH2 plays out.

I think your just bad at it and looking to blame anything.

Go play vCoH automatch for a bit and tell me the maps have tons of space.

Cause the scale is pretty much the same. There is wrecks for cover, logs, trees, fences. The only thing that limits engagement range is the True sight system and that can be compensated for by being a better player.

Also, the fact you say that Cover is relatively unimportant highlights how little your paying attention. Have you seen how fast infantry get cut down in the open?

They do. The scale is not the same. Just look at some COH gameplay then compare it to COH2.

And what's even faster is how units die to anti-cover abilities. When there are four and six man flamethrower squads you can no longer focus fire them like in COH nor do they require supporting units to be effective, especially with flamethrowers being deadlier and longer range weapons.

But thats why the Alpha exists. Personally I think the Mortars are too good. they seem to track moving targets. Yes Flamethrowers do alot of damage.

Get your access to the Alpha forums and make constructive posts. All you've done here is say "It sucks, it's not CoH 1"

I can agree with some of what you've said, but it's not even close to DoW2. and some of what you've said is just absurd

COH 2 feels a lot like COH 1 to me, I honestly don't know what you're going on about, it makes very little sense. That being said, we can do whatever we want in EIR 2  Wink

It would make sense alpha users stay until open beta, but I haven't been able to get an answer on that either Sad
