One of the requirements for getting your map added to Eir is a complete SGA package. Two of the required files are:

1.) 'yourmap'_map_base.tga
2.) 'yourmap'_map_slots.tga

To create these is fast and simple.

Part 1

- open 'yourmap'_mm.tga using photoshop or similar program. Add white circles to the spawn locations like this:



- Save this file as 'yourmap'_map_base.tga



Part 2

- now add numbers to that same image like this:



- Save this file as 'yourmap'_map_slots.tga



Part 3

- Add these two new files to your SGA package

you've not compensated on how to make it seem rectangular in COH for like 2v2's etc otherwise it just stretches the image and distorts it, i'm not doubley sure on how to do it but the way i tried last time seemed to work

Good point Deadbolt:

- Create a new canvas size of 768 x 768. Import your image to top left. Fill in remaining area with similar color as CoH screen.

Please post your correction and procedures to do so in a thoughtful and productive manner. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

So far you have posted nothing useful or that has not already been posted. These are tutorial threads and will not be cluttered with useless posts. It will be cleaned until something additionally useful and detailed is posted.

Sure:

Open the .tga file in GIMP.

Change the canvas size to be a square.

Center your image in the canvas.

Save and repackage the .sga

This is incorrect, or at least missing the crucial information deadbolt and I were trying to get across.

The canvas size must 768 x 768 as stated already:

If your map is also a square, then just center your image in the canvas as you have stated. (although I would suggest resizing your image to match if it does not do so already)

However - the point of the amendment post is, if your map is rectangular, as most 3v3 and 4v4 maps are,  you need to follow the directions as I have previously posted.

I may have made a mistake assuming a person with a square map would just adjust the size of their image to match the square canvas..........in fact, I think anyone with an IQ over 2 would have figured that out, but I guess you got it covered if they don't.....LOL

Chill out.

You misunderstand what I'm saying. Let me spell it out:

You open the .tga file in GIMP. (it is currently rectangular and will be stretched out to become square when shown in game).

Change the canvas size to be a square by increasing the short side to be the same length as the longest side. This will add extra transparent space to the image. If you fill in the newly created space with a color, it will look weird in COH.

Center your image in the canvas. You now have a rectangular picture centered in a square canvas. Perfect.

Save and repackage the .sga

I am done arguing with you....... whatever floats your boat mate.

Those of you using this thread as a tutorial, feel free to chose whatever option appears to be your best solution.
