Anyone who thinks that tank effectiveness should be measured by tanks waddling up a a one hundred meter line and duking it out is...well, misguided. Communications, logistics, and mobility matter much more than firepower and armor.
IIRC, Lend-Lease Shermans sent to Russia tended to end up in Guards Tank or Guards Mechanized units. A strange way to disparage a tank, but I digress.
