the defensive doctrinal 2x mines unlock saves you a whopping 5mu per 2 mines! but what if I would like 2x mines on a diff company?
I suppose you meant that 220mp 30mu for 2 mines is better than/as good as 110mp 35 mu for 2 mines

I can't remember the last time i saw a demo. they arent that effective like mines if u get hit by one you can assume its another. so all they really accomplish is denying houses to enemies. u want to complain about mines but i remember this SE doctrine that get's like 20+ mines for 120 munies which slow tanks as well as kill infantry.

Do you not take into consideration the price/pop difference of the engineer and pio?
How in any way are 2 mines at 35mu for a 2 pop pio balanced against 3 pop engies?
You can get 75% of the mines from 3 pios as you can from 2 engies for the same pop. And that's another pio to recrew shit/place a bunker/place a goliath, place defenses = it's more pop efficient.
Don't even throw in defensive mines or the goliath. The engies' demo charge doesn't even compare.
It's only subject to buildings and even then, you dont get to decide the spot of the building that you put the charge on, so the effectiveness is not under your control, unlike the goliath which is a rolling controllable teller mine.

so what you're telling me is because in your opinion goliaths are better than demos, pios' amount of mines should be nerfed. That sounds like well because the sun is better than the moon, the sea should be buffed and trees nerfed.

No what were telling you is that a 2x mine would be too cost and pop efficient for it to be considered other then a doctrine upgrade.
right now pios are a 110 mp 15 mu single use minelayer that can recrew anything on the field without weakening an otherwise useful squad.

It is pretty much pop revelant.
All with 6 pop. If Engineers only got 1 mine it would be 2 mines for every 3 axis lays down. If Axis got 2 mines it would be 6 for every 4 mine Engineers lay. Currently it is 3 and 4.
3 Units on field versus 2 units on field. It has been like this for quite some time and honestly, I think it is fine.
Lets twist it with a ironcord.
Allied wants to place mines so lets assume he uses 6 pop for it. With 6 pop he gets 4 mines and now he has 2 squads to do things. In same situation Axis calls in 3 squads and lays down 3 mines and now he has 3 squads available.
One thing I do find silly though, engineers and pioneers cost the same in manpower, there used to be a difference, now there ain't. Weren't engineers 130 long time ago?

the reason is quite simple.
in the past axis tanks were clearly superior and firepower of the allies had issues to take them down. Thats why stickies needed to make crits: crippeling the tank for the rest of the game.
and so were 2x mines needed to stop the rolling steel.
however since the nerf of the panther and the buffs to hellkitty and m10, do allies have a quite good, cheap counterpart vs a tank which is not really useable vs inf.
I heard also from some new players complaining that axis have 1 mine while allies 2. (i think the last one was m****)
