Apparently pouring acid on your dad is a-okay but streaming with a hoarse voice is not. Nice

I have to change my opinion about the expansion actually, gave the alpha a few tries and it plays A LOT like the good ole COH 1 again.
Also, it definitely looks like there will be modding...

CoH2 has been an excruciating cancer of the RTS genre.

I liked the new factions immediately the second i saw them, especially the OKW. The last 2 patches really did improve the alpha even more, (can't say more cause of the goddamn NDA though)

Ye I don't know what they did the last few alpha patches but it plays so great now. First time I am truly enjoying COH 2 similar to how much I enjoyed the first.
Guess I'm finally going to end up buying COH 2.

Add me if you want to play together btw: TheOneHandedMan

The officer is considerably better than a riflemen squad at carrying weapons. Officers have good accuracy so they will hit most targets.

It's a good overview. Steam workshop is going to be there so the real question now is whether or not it's going to be moddable enough to allow for an EIR 2 type mod to happen.

Since EIR2 will be based heavily on the balance within COH2 I would like to get community feedback on the issue. Valid issues get discussed with the rest of the team at Relic.

Invalid issues or nonsense posts get deleted.

Judging from this post by pq, I guess they do plan to allow EIR style mods

Well. I'm sure PQ personally wanted to allow mods if he could, I don't blame him for being optimistic about it back then. I assume it was an upper management bullshit thing that's delayed it for so long.

id say it was SEGA, they feel they would have lost revenue with people doing the things to the game they wanted to sell.

I call BS on that to, I still think relic manegement is to blame to tbh, look at TW, they allowed for mods pretty much right out of the gate for all their games with workshop support as well, while still making DLC's.

Remember that under THQ they were talking about an "In game currency" for CoH2 and that was scrapped under SEGA for all we can tell, I'm actually under the impression it could have been worse.

But that was pre dlc age, this is all after Sega aquired alot of IPs.
Look at things like A:cm with its dlc fest.

Rome and Shogun II were not pre-dlc fest and both have had plenty of DLC, modding was still not prevented and even encouraged with workshop on both.
