Staccato Roar on tank MGs and .50 cals is amazing and totally worth it.
 
But on .30 cals it's overcosted and not worth using. It's 125 mp on a fragile platform.

The Staccato tank aura is nice if you're running a Sherman or TD company, but not a Pershing company.

The thing with the perma-AP .30s is to use them in pairs as a "fuck off LVs" mechanism. Nothing makes suicide pumas go poof faster than a pair of AP .30s chattering away at them.

 Additionally, I'm fairly certain you can also stack the normal AP burst ability bonus on top of the permanent one; in each instance it ADDS 50 to the MG's penetration (base pen = 51 or 101, then, -> multiply by its pen modifier against X armor type).

I would say that the "best" Armor build would be 4-5 Shermans with Staccato MGs, self repair kits, and optional HE rounds, with 2x rep squads (3x reps each) in reserve. Back them up with 3-4 ATGs and spend what you have left on nade-equipped suicide Riflemen and uses of Tactical Bombers (coyly named Broken Arrow by Tachicomedian); it basically calls in loitering rocket runs in a 60 m radius around where you place it--if the opponent doesn't immediately opt to fuck off, he's going to get his teeth kicked in. If he does move, however, damage would be minimal.
