i cant use EIR Launcher for some reason and i searched the forums and it says i have to launch with the .exe program and when i do that it brings me to the COH main menu. how do i get into a battle from there?

What error are you getting when using the launcher?  If you can't use it, you'll have to launch using the Europe In Ruins shortcut and setup battles using this page:

the error is Type5 Code 0
