This is just a small update on 2.0 development... It's going quite well, several hurdles have been overcome that were slowing down the process quite a bit. I've had to add some rules that run constantly, I'm hopeful they don't make Europe In Ruins unplayable on some of the lower end PCs. These rules are necessary in order to facilitate some of the new functionality of the new races. I'm really glad that you guys are continuing to play the current version and war iteration despite knowing 2.0 will be out, hopefully sooner than later. In addition, I'm very glad to see new players joining the community. I hope that they will enjoy their stay, post any issues they have, and stick around for 2.0. And just to keep you occupied, feel free to talk about the following image which is an early version of the Macromedia Flash War Map... This is the work of: roflmao

Forgot to include, and since there's no edit button; Can you give us any details on what this 'new functionality' is/will be, and what would make it so lower end PCs wouldn't be able to handle it? Great work, by the way.

Axis resistance was particularly strong in the region known as Error Parsing.

This is not indicative of the final version, just a prototype that was working (connecting to the database), but it's since been broken due to updates. Furthermore, who knows when this will actually make it into the modification.

Cool! I think it needs more sectors in Northern France and fewer in the South. Operation Anvil aside, most of the fighting was in the north.

True dat. Having the option to invade neutral countries would be awesome, too, but that could come later.

Without trying to piss people off, FL I have a question.
What would be the wait time if say you were to wait to put 2.0 out with Veterancy and CPs in it? I know your plan is to get 2.0 out so we can play it and test out everything (and Im sure balance some things out too) with out CPs or Veterancy. Just curious as to how much longer it would be if we just waited till it was all ready to be packaged together?

Maybe I am interpretting the map wrong, or they aren't labeled, or its still unfinished... but seems like very few actual territories. I was expecting more. The wargamer in me wants a hex overlay superimposed over the map, with each hex being 1 territory, running about 100 hexes from left mapedge to right mapedge.

What are the plans for the Regions?
Will they have a fixed map? Will they give specific advantages? Fixed Spawn?
