Poll
Question: How is your view on battle victory and veterancy
I am a vet whore, I dont care about losing, but I won't let a single squad die
I will keep any vetted troops alive, I don't care about vet0 troops
I will only save my vet2 and vet3, I don't care about vet 1 and vet0
I baby sit my vet3, and don't care about anything else
I am willing to sacrifice my vet2 if that wins the game
I am willing to sacrifice vet3 if that wins the game

I'd rather get the win and protect my 88% win/loss than try to save a crapy crapy 20% health bonus that the axis get at vet 3   Roll Eyes

Riflemen: if a squad has kills and is faced with a force they will not live through, I will usually retreat them.

I try to keep most of my units alive. I cycle through reinforcements like this. Bring on a few squads, get a bunch of kills, and retreat them if they are overrun. I rarely ever retreat vet0 squads though unless they have achieved a substantial amount of kills.

The only time I've truly lost my vetted units is when I make silly mistakes (like running a Sherman headlong into the enemy line).  Smiley

If a unit is too wounded to fight, I'll retreat them. The only units I leave to die are HMGs.

I play smart...dont waste troops, I will keep my Vet 3s alive, but I try to keep all my troops alive, most of the time I never fight to the end.

Win > veterancy, except vet 3, I won't lose those Smiley.
I will expose my vet units enough though, that's what they're for, I hate people who don't even use their vet 3 units... what's the point of having them? Tongue

ATGs and the like are too slow to retreat
I leave them on the field as long as possible, they want to survive? They fight for it  Smiley.
