Install SGA maps to:
C:\Program Files\THQ\Company of Heroes\Europe In Ruins\Archives

(Simply locate your Europe in Ruins folder when using Steam/Vista or with any other differing installation path!)


If you would like to have your map added to the .module file, post in this thread.  The map will need to meet certain minimum requirements and will need to be in Beta/Final stage.

General Notes:
1. Please have your mapname "Mapname (# Players)"
(For example "Road to Carentan (4)")

The #p_Mapname is ONLY for the actual .sga filename. (f.e 6p_Bastion)

2.  Please have your current maps updated to reasonable BETA level before adding in new ones, I'd rather have a steady flow of near-finalised maps than an overload of maps that still need a lot of work to it.

3. Please don't forget that all maps added eventually need to be updated and finalised, maps that are in beta stage but get neglected by the playerbase and never get updated will eventually be taken off.

I have to say, the situation we had some months ago really turned completely. Its not "well abbeville or a stock map" anymore, its: "Oh boy, which map to play there are so many"

I would like to encourage all mappers to NOT start any new mapping projects at the moment and try to get all our beta maps into a nice, balanced and final version.

2.0 shouldnt be thaaaaat far away anymore and we can expect a new flush of fresh players coming to the community than. It would help the start of 2.0 in many different ways if we have a good set of finalized maps rather than a load of beta maps updating every couple of days.

(Balance whise as there is not that much influence from unfair maps as it can happen with many beta maps. New player approval whise because we would have a certain "quality standard" while being completely independent from the relic maps. Advertisement whise, as it helps FL even more to get players for the mod if you can read on moddb for example "and all those beautifull custom maps they have there too" and so on and so on)

Hartkeks, good question.  In fact all I could come up with is the following from the Map Team sticky:

   - All maps created by members must meet a high standard of gameplay & appearance.
   - Betas will only be made available in a near final stage of the map. Alpha testing is allowed.
   - Finalised maps must have a custom loading screen, map preview image and weather options added.
   - If an official beta map never reaches a final stage it will be discarded eventually.

To those I would add the following requirements for beta maps:
-Map must be tested in-game before release (use DEV mode) to make sure there aren't any SCAR errors or obvious gameplay issues

-The layout should be at least 80% finalized

-The level of detail should approach that of Relic maps (in terms of spats and decorations).  Doesn't have to be fully detailed yet.

-Screenshots (including in-game tactical map showing sectors) must be present in the map thread and at least one day should be allowed for community comment before releasing the first Beta.

-Finally, you must have PMed Unkn0wn or Kolath asking tobe added to the Module.  We will judge if the map is Beta-worthy and will have fldash include it in the mod.

It may be wise to just have the link go to the map's thread, where the latest download link is -- I wasn't aware of a direct link being in here for a while so I was updating the map and this one was going out of date, as it is now.   Wink

The devs relocate the map topic here when they feel like it. all you do is  make one topic for your map in the basic map building board and make sure its a good map.

this place is also kinda dead i think...
