3 hours? u kidding me. I actually used to play this game online when it first came out, im not sure if its been fixed but there used to be a ton of crashes and you couldnt run it too fast or players would go out of sync. Back to the 3 hours thing, it would take no less than 5 hours per game, and i don't believe i successfully ever completed a game from start to finish. Anywho great game, takes alot of time to play and such.

We play for 3 hours, possibly more.  And then save and continue the next week.  We dont finish in one session.

The game has crashes yes but we deal with it.  That is why im looking for players that have some patience and wont quit after the game crashes a couple times.

I'm looking for a favour from someone. I very do much want to play in the Campaign game, but I'll be away that Sunday until later in the evening. If someone has the primaries of the game, could you be able to substitute for me for that one day? I'm planning to play as the Soviet Union, as I usually do. It's a very good country; Has a good resource bank + steady flow of income, a large (whilst disorganized + out of date)army, the biggest (or second biggest) air force, distributed evenly around key points, and good positions on the Western + Eastern sides of the globe. A relatively easy country to defend from invasion.

Would someone be able to lend a hand???

Or perhaps the AI could get the job done until the week after next...

I am having a really hard time diplomatically bullying my way across Europe. The Austrians and Hungarians have seen the light, but when I lowered the boom on Czekloslovakia, the damn Brits and French declared war on me....

Appeasement is apparently not in the gameplan this time around, but damn it sucks getting into a war pre 1937 Sad

Also how does one go about annexing a province? That might be the best way to avoid war...

watch your belligerence rating. if your belligerence goes too high Brits can DOW you before Danzig.
If you check the Tommies Diplomacy Screen and hover your mouse over the bottom slider itll say something like "XXX Belligerence needed for a Declaration of War".
Belligerence drops very slowly during peacetime but Events like Anschluß get your Belligerence up.

You cannot annex single provinces, only the whole country and for that you need to control every VP Province that Country has.

On a different Note.
May i propose a Euro Game(DD or Arma) set up at a Time which favors people around GMT+1 ?
Id be in for it if we can get it going, say, saturday afternoon or on a fixed day during the week for 2-3h sessions. Scenario would be 36 Campaign, 38 sucks for MP imo since you really dont have enough time to steer your country in the way you want it to go.
If there are euro-players interested ill make start a new thread for this. or maybe dash or someone can set us up a seperate section like that for Ikariam ?

I'll play if it's going Doomsday.  Though I may not be able to attend next week, may be going to Canada.

I'm up for one since we're doing DD now.

I wonder if I need to uninstall Armageddon...

A question for you guys, I've been considering of getting the game, but I wasn't sure if Doomsday and Armageddon are expansions or standalones?

Doomsday is standalone, Arma is expansion for DD.
Arma is really cheap(8€ or something) and it vastly improves how the AI behaves and has some nice gimmicks added that make gameplay easier(for example attaching brigades allready when building a unit).

Anyway, Euro Game here: http://forums.europeinruins.com/index.php/topic,5059.0.html

Just an FYI, you can't play Doomsday with the original HoI 2 so far as I've seen.  At least, my friend couldn't when we tried to test

I tried to install the 1.3a patch.  It said it couldn't read isrrt.dll and then it said access is denied.  Halp.
