What is the Europe In Ruins shortcut for?

***** So I'm getting more of my group on the mod and a few of them have gotten confused because they click on the EIR shortcut and it launches CoH immediately. Once I explain that they use the Launcher shortcut for games, everything is cool.

I just happened to luck out and not see the EIR shortcut and only the launcher one after install.

But what is that shortcut for?

Well, believe it or not, the launcher doesn't work for everyone and those players have to download the battle files manually and place them into their EuropeInRuins\Archives directory then launch the game with that shortcut.

True for a mine friend the launcher don't work and we don't know how 

Manually manage the battle file is pretty simple so don't give up!

***** Oh no, so far no one has had any problems with the launcher (well the vista guys did, but they found the fix in the forums). But thats good info to know just in case. Thanks again.

Vista had problems? The launcher never worked for me. Then i got Vista and it was perfect.

BrotherG, you can also use the shortcut to start EiR again if you already have the battle files and you needed to quit the game due to a crash or rehost.  But generally the launcher is the safest bet if it works.
