That sounds great, or at least i think it does. Surely a tank with 3 players in it, will be a better killing machine than a tank with 1 player?

In a perfect fantasy world. What you'll usually end up with is the driver and gunner arguing while the MG gunner will be wondering why he's bothering to man the hull MG when the turret MG is way more useful. Not to mention having three people in a tank means a single Panzerfaust hit can mean the death of three men. Where if it was a single tanker, the other two could be doing something useful, like clearing the building to stop any Germans from shooting the tank with the Panzerfaust.

Yeah.

People typically let you solo tanks. While it might not be as efficient... imagine if you will ...

You work at 80% efficiency with a 1 man, 100% efficiency with a 2 man.. 101.1% efficiency with a 3 man... tank.

Why? Cause half the times you are stopped sitting there motionless while the turret man shoots down some valley some poor infantry or some enemy tank (or possibly a anti-tank rifle man.. or somethin.)

If I get my friend to play we'll take turns between driving and manning the turret. Otherwise in pubbies I don't trust anyone using my turret because I am the better gunner so I tell him to GTFO and find his own tank. Sometimes I wish tanks only had 2 slots, one for the MG nest, and the other for driving and using the turret. It may not be realistic, but neither is the small amount of infantry on the field.

I love this game to death.

Best moment would have to be ambushing the enemy team with my lone T-34. Took out two Panthers and a Tiger before going down. >D

One of the more annoying parts is when people demand you jump out of their tank, since they want it solo. They just sit there or leap out of their own tank to get in another, claiming "I don't want to ride with some newb who ruins my shots."

Meanwhile a 2 man tank is typically far superior to a 1 man tank. You can't reload without someone in the gunner spot.

Most of the morons who 1-man tank just use their tanks as armored, stationary artillery on some hill that doesn't really help out the team.

The MG spot is useless if it's not a Combined Arms map, but then it's pretty darn useful. Those maps I typically enjoy more.

If they're not my friend, I ask them to get out. I usually always solo my tank, but I'm usually in a T-34 where I'll speed around the flank and wait to ambush the enemy team. It's amazing how well ambushing works in that game.

64 players are supported.

The standard maps you get from the dev's are small and quite often ga*! However, custom maps are mostly awesome!

Tank maps are obviously bigger, but they are not push maps all the time.

Only downside with the tank custom maps is they are three million square miles, so if you bail out of your tank then you're stranded for the next 15 minutes.

Or if you die you've got another 10 minute countryside ride Tongue

I like maps like Leningrad or any combined arms maps. The infantrymen REALLY love you if you play a good 3 man tank and support them.

Hmm...I kinda wanna play this again now. I used to have trouble finding good servers since the community has dwindled so much.

There are like 4 servers, one of them being 24-7 danzig and the other 24-7 tank only maps. The other two are almost always full ><

Well, the state is better in European time zones than NA time zones, though it's not a ghost town like The Ship Online. I was actually playing this morning.

Gamespy says 163 server, 894 players for vanilla RO., 145 players playing the Carpathian Cross mod (Romania).

Carpathian Crosses looks like it adds quite a bit of neat stuff, even though I think the Romania helmets looked absolutely ridiculous.

Guys remember this, as cool as it sounds, most of the time you will go on a server and there will be no organization or teamwork, so all that stuff that sounds fun will only be half as fun. I played it with a guest pass and as neat as it seemed, it just was not organized enough to have fun... but if we all pile onto a server at the same time... well we could change that couldnt we =D
