Do any AB players use it? I mean, RRs are so damned good I just don't see a point in using air dropped AT guns. If anyone uses them, what do you drop them with, and how much help is it having pretty instant AT guns on the field? I imagine raid assault AT guns could be pretty deadly.

My available companies:
Allies:
*AB company going for raid assault
  Infantry going for tank reapers
Axis:
*Defensive going for rocket artillery
  Blitz going for lightning war
And an experimental Terror company going for subversion consisting of all volks and two King Tigers

Raid Assault doesn't affect ATG's as once they land they are a normal ATG. Funnily enough; Tank Reapers affects Airborne ATGs  Cheesy

I played a game yesterday where the enemy dropped in 5 AT guns and 3 AB squads right out of my spawn buff range.  Then I destroyed the entire force with 5 vet 2 MP 40 squads in less than 10 seconds.  Had some help from a team mate with 2 volks squads, though.

Crocs came in after I owned the AB, and don't forget that the one StuG was mine, the other was yours or Andy's.

Well, air dropped AT guns get 15% extra penetration from AT eagles. So that would make air dropped AT guns do a bit more damage. But airdropped AT is more expensive, even the AP rounds are 50 muni instead of 40.

I mean the only AT guns that I have in my AB company are 2. One in my opening call in, and another in a support call in. Other then that its all RRs and some M-10s.

RRs are so good that there really isn't any reason to have the more-static-and-thus-more-vulnerable ATG

The other thing is, the crew-members of the air-drop ATG have the same stats (increased hitpoints and armor class) as paras, so they're significantly more survivable than your standard ATG in addition to being dropped in the field

I usually find Airborne ATG really not worth the investment. The times I've tried to deploy an ATG, it would end up landing on the other side of a building or ledge and by the time I get the gun into firing position, the enemy tank has left the area. This followed by the change in Airborne play style, means that Airborne no longer "take and hold" but assist in an attack instead. I've also had plenty of bad draws where my ATG decides to land on a pile of Volks MP40.

And Airborne ATGs seem alot more vulnerable than regular Airborne troopers. If you're unfortunately, an Ostwind drives by and the ATG is now decrewed for your enemy to take. The risk is simply too great for it to be useful. Give me Airborne ATGs as an Infantry or Armor player, and I'd take regular ATGs instead. It's not worth the hassle and risk involved, if I want heavy ATGs, I'll call them on field from my spawn where I know they won't land somewhere on the other side of a hedge or something. Plus, they're cheaper.

My previous Airborne set up included, 12 or so normal Airborne squads, 6 RR Airborne squads, a pair of normal ATGs with AP Rounds, 4 Crocs, a support platoon of a Jeep, HMG, and Mortar and two Engineer platoons consisting of 2 Engineer squads and a Half-Track each. My T4 was Airborne Elite which made RRs extremely adaptable since they could now be used to take out emplacements from a distance. The biggest weakest I faced was being out attrition, I had to be extremely cautious with my drops. I found Grenades and especially Satchels worthless. Prior to this, I tried having an assault platoon with Satchels and regretted buying them afterwards. Due to the mobile playstyle of my Airborne Company, ATGs were simply too slow to use effectively. Puma Armor Cars would also make mincemeat of ATGs but just taking a hit and then proceeding to circle strafe them.

What if AB ATGs were cheaper, would anyone use them? I always find it sad when there is some kind of doctrine ability that doesn't just get ignored, but gets outright discouraged to be used.

They are more expensiv. Its not even like "rifleman vs flying rifleman price rise" its more of "bike vs p4" price difference. Of course I carry to excess here.
