A tactical horror shooter, the best coop mod ever. Up to 8 marines, top down perspective, killing aliens en masse with flamethrower, motion detector, setting up sentry guns, getting infested, welding doors shut so the aliens cant break through... There is people playing it around the clock and the community is still churning out new campaigns. There's tons of content and it is definitely worth the money (5 pounds lawl pull the stick out ur arse). |

The top down view is what makes it so unique as a coop mod. You always see what your allies are doing which is great for teamwork (flamethrower up front, shotgun behind, HMG covering the back) which isnt possible like that with a first person view.
Apart from that, there is a slow motion close up view when using stim packs and an optional first person view when spectating.

I beg to differ about the roles only being able to be done in top down view. If you have competent teammates then even in first person view you should be able to count on them to play their part. Why do I need a overhead view to see them doing this when they should be doing it regardless...its their roll. They dont need me telling them to do it, should already be done.
Then again I am a realism shooter player, and I have played competitively on teams and I / we expect everyone to know their role. Its just one less thing you have to think about when the shit hits the fan because you know that "player A" will do what they are supposed to do without being told to do so.

Basic Surival Tips Boys;
-Bind a button to use Stim (mine is X)
-turn gamma to at least 1.1
-Stick to those how know the map to surive.
-Watch your fire and keep yourside clean.

After watching Aliens a game of Alien Swarm is a must. Hell, marines can even get infected and then give offspring to new aliens!

Unknown, thtb and myself got it, I believe Saint is getting it. Usually there are always some populated servers online and there is a single player option. Its most fun to play with people you know on ventrilo (who have equally little skill).
