How is mm/dd/yy more easy to understand than dd/mm/yy. That's absolutely silly to say such a thing.

mm/dd/yy Is probably the easiest way to write and read the date. Sorry Unknown its much easier to understand.

Just because americans turn dates around doesn't mean everyone else has to =).

There is no such thing as an 'easier' way to write, it appears easier because you grew up with it. However, since the rest of the world with exception of the US uses DD/MM/YY, making it a universal standard, we should just use DD/MM/YY just as well. Wink

Are we seriously having a debate about this??!!?!?!

I see it as this the month goes first to let you know what category the day is in. Let's break it down. 06 (Month is June now I just need a date) 04 (the date is a sub-category inside of a month and comes second) 1992 (year goes last due to the fact that most times you are not concerned about what year it is but instead the day and month).

And I don't say the "ninth of November" when asked I go "November Ninth". Most Americans don't. Why? Because we are different it is good to be different (unless you are American where no matter what you do say or look you are never right, you can act just like a European but that isn't enough, the fact that Globalization has spread a lot of American ideas/culture fucks us in the ass) uhhhh where did I start the parentheses?

Well the english do, the canadians and australians probably use dd/mm/yy.
Everyone else in the world uses dd/mm/yy.

I changed the dates in the map database, with a little note. If you don't like it FIGHT THA POWAH. :p

-Why in gods name woud anyone be so silly and not use: dd/mm/Year.

From shortest to longest.
Its the basic logic of Math, afterall you cound 123 and not 321, also you read from left to right, not middle left then right.

Why?

They say 'november 5th' so I guess it does make more sense for them to use mm/dd. It doesn't for anyone else though :p.

Like I said I think it has to do with the way we verbally say the dates. And plus on some date we had it all perfectly numberical like 1/23/45 except it had the time in it or sumthing.

The way we see it is different, thats it. Thtb hits the nail on the head of the reason why its preferable here, shortest to longest.
