"In a fierce engagement the 103rd Terror (VonBrummels), 41st Blitzkrieg (COHCommando) and 592nd Blitzkrieg (Thecakeisapie) divisions broke through our lines and captured more territory, pushing our 745th Armour (colonelklink1942), 31st Armour (Nasdaq89) and 187th Infantry (Brine) divisions aside. The defeat is made even more sour by the many men who lost their lives that battle. The Commanding officers should be ashamed. It is in times like this that we must have stay strong if we intend to win this war."

Captain's Commentary:
That was perhaps the most hard-fought and brutal battle I've ever seen. The krauts had heavy armor support, hitting us constantly with a number of tanks and self-propelled attack guns the whole damn time. Our AT guns were extremely effective in combating this, though my own Sherman's were relatively useless as that damned gun might as well have been a popgun against the plates on those monsters. My M10's fared better, but only so much so.

We had thought we'd broken the kraut's backs at one point, our lines battered but holding. We had been reinforcing constantly, but our luck ran out in that last push. It was terrifying, to tell you the truth. All the infantry they'd apparently been holding in reserve moved in, most of which we countered. They moved in with Panzer tanks, which is when we called our last trump card: Perishing heavy tanks. We had two in reserve, and we'd hoped they'd end the fight once and for all.

Until that damn Tiger showed up. King Tiger, or Bengal, or Royal or whatever they wanna goddamn call it. I don't care what it's called, cus I just call it death. We hit it a few times, looked damaged, but it withdrew behind their lines were we dared not send our boys when they rolled in with a Panther. Volks teams had swept behind and hit what remained of our AT units, and by then the Tiger was back.

We high tailed it out, but at a grave cost. Over 160 losses from my company alone, I'm afraid. The units that pulled out are bitter, but they learned from it, at least.

Besides, as aerial recon will show, we didn't leave them much of a town to hold. If Jerry wants that patch of dirt so bad, they can have it.

They say losing men gets easier over time. I hope not...

I just pray to God almighty for forgiveness at sending so many to die.

-Captain Donald Jones, 31st Armored Division, European Front; Friday, November 21st, 1942

I feel your pain DowJones.
The 247th Lithuanian Airborne Division, Tiger company was utterly destroyed in one battle yesterday as well.
Loads of crack units(vet 2s) lost their lives in attempts to let the rookies run away, but even of those few returned home. Loads of brave men lost their lives to 2 very elite heavy panzer companies(Kommendant Silverwold provided meatshields), their RRs proved ineffective against the armor skirts on an Iron Cross Panther, but at least the boys took out 9 tanks in the utter defeat.
24 enemy soldiers, 9 enemy tanks killed for 4 tanks and 96 men dead on my side... And it was these striped airborne that were the most effective on the allied side...
Was a grim day...
I got back everything I lost in the next battle tho ^^.

Fun to watch 2 pershings v. 1 panther & 1 KT.  Low point of the match was the 14 rifle squads blobbing through the town... then getting WTFPWNED by 1 flameHT.
