I am sorry to start this for a simple question. I have looked everywhere on the forums, but how do I capture an immobilizedtank? The self-destruct button says I can detonate my tank to prevent the enemy from capturing my tanks.

lol well...that'd be epic but maybe like, u know how in the end it says if you dont get ur unit off the field you will lose it? Well, you do lose it , but the other side doesn't gain anything.

What do u guys think of getting the mp, mu, and/or fu cost of that unit added onto your max when u cap a unit?

I do belive that in an earlier version of EiR u could use engineers or pios (depending in ur faction)to "repair" the tank and it becomes urs for the battle. Im not sure if thats the case anymore, and its to hard to try as u dont often get a tank thats immobilised with no gun...

You can capture enemy tanks (atleast i think) in blitz mod by bergertigering a husk then putting your crew in it.

Capturing vehicles/armour is not possible in vCoH or EiR. However, i personally think it was an intended feat which didn't make it into the final Company of Heroes build. The self-destruct description simply wasn't corrected before distribution. [/Opinion]

Self-destruction isn't in vCOH, it's an EIR addition to prevent users from having immobilised tanks sitting on the field unusable, draining pop.

Tank capturing was never in EiR.  In vCoH you could "capture" tanks with the bergtiger but it was decided this time last year that EiR would not use the tank "resurrection" mechanic.

You might be thinking of Faces of War where you could repair enemy tanks and take them over.  But in EiR with repair rates so slow, it wouldn't really do you any good to capture an immobilized tank.

As Unkn0wn said, the ability was there to allow you to reclaim your popcap.  Before it existed, a favorite tactic was to immobilize a tank and then leave it alone thus effectively draining 8-15 popcap from your enemy

Good question, though!  I never realized the text was misleading Wink

Obviously man, conditions and prerequisites for such a feature could be altered to allow it.
As well as the immobilization process.

Or have things like capturing an immobilized tank, and have it fire for you.

Slow repair rates dont mean anything if you have the time and pios/engees for the job.

Actually vet 3 repair specialization engies can repair stupidly fast. I'm sure they could do an ostwind, stug, stuh, or puma in only a minute or two.

Edit: should be 3.375 times as fast as normal engies...that's fast.
