So today, I tried to launch EIR, and it asked me to insert my opposing fronts disc for a validation check, which is something that I haven't had to do since my original install.  Any idea what's up?  I was able to locate the disc, but it was a little irritating, especially when my drive likes to keep spinning while I play.

I have opposing fronts by disc, and the normal CoH through steam.

Yeah the "insert disk" is what CoH does if it can't access the relic server to log you in.  It is the backup method of copy protection.

But from the standpoint of EIR if Relic down you just have to wait to play.

Oh, so THAT was it.

Today, a little after starting an EiR game, I seemingly dropped out. Then, when I tried to reconnect, I just couldnīt. First I have to insert the disc to enter the game, then when I want to connect it asks me to insert the disc AGAIN to validate it. After I have done that and clicked continue, the DVD drive hums...

And Iīm again on the gameīs main menu, but still disconnected.

So, this will be solved soon, I hope?

Well, it seems my game wonīt work, for whatever retarded reason it is.

I mean, I just donīt understand why the hell it wonīt connect. I was playing yesterday some EiR, then the game dropped about four minutes into it. Mind you, everything else works just fine. Ventrilo, web browser, the internet connection in general... everything is fine BUT Opposing Fronts, which wonīt log into Relic Online, so I canīt play multiplayer.

And I donīt get why. If my DVD drive didnīt work, I would understand, but it does work, otherwise I wouldnīt be able to get into the game in the first place. My account is perfectly fine, since it has been working without a problem for about a year.

Now, Unknown, you said Relic Online was down. You meant, like, it was down yesterday? And then it got back up and everybodyīs been able to play perfectly well both in vCoH, and in the mods?

What happens when you launch COH/OF without trying to launch a mod with it?  Does it still fail to connect?  If so, try to get help on the Relicnews.com forums.

Yeah, it still fails. At first, I tried going through the mod launchers, but now Iīve just been trying to get vCoH working, and it wonīt work.

I guess Iīll visit the relic forum, aye...

+Edit:

Ok, for some stupid reason, their forum wonīt accept hotmail accounts for registration, so I canīt join. But anyway, it seems I am not the only one having problems with this. It seems that, yes, the server drop at Relic Online screwed up the logging in/out of some people. So I guess it rests on Relicīs shoulders to solve this.

Should I... should I be worried...?

Ok, problem solved.

What I did was uninstall EiR and a few hours later the game was fine again. I donīt think uninstalling EiR did anything, but... just in case.
