Alright, so last war I gave a couple of my US ATGs vet 2, they lasted maybe a game or two three tops. This war I have a vet 1 ATG in my opening call in that was capable of getting vet 2, it's been with me for god, like 10-15 games. Seems like anything other then my rangers I vet up gets killed in a few games, but the vet 1 units I don't bother putting to vet 2 survive forever. Anyone got vet 1 units that last twice as long as their vet 2s XD ?

I got a standard Churchill to vet 3, it instantly died the next game.

This may sound silly, but place it on infantry squads and mortars. They have a higher survivability than tanks (mortar insta retreats at one man) and the higher squad sizes means you have more of a chance to retreat them.

vet 3 cromwell  10 games,  vet 2 firefly 6 games, vet 3 officer 5 games,  vet 3 tommy squad 15 games,

and i use them as needed.

key thing is spend the pp as you see fit or don't vetrancy bonuses are still good and do/can make a difference in the game.  Just don't get attached to it.

My vet three stug has made it three games.  My vet three hetzer lasted one.

But Most, of my infantry is vet one in my PE company, Only one is ready to make it to vet two.  I'm hessitent to make them vet two because most allied infantry will walk right over them in a firefight, between bar supressions and Occifer bonuses.

Being an EiR noob who doesn't know how to effectively spend his PPs, I've had numerous vetted units during my 10 odd wins and 20 odd losses, four of which have been vet 3. Here's what happened to each one, in chronological order:

Vet 3 Sapper PIATs: Cut down by KCH during the first game after I vetted them.

2nd Vet 3 Sapper PIATs: Dove under an engine destroyed Ostwind when I told them to attack it and commited suicide during the first game after I vetted them.

Vet 3 Bren section: Died to a mixture of LMGs, butterfly mines and a puma during the first game after I vetted them.

Vet 3 lieutenant: Sniped by a Hetzer during the first game after I vetted him.

That's a total of 9 PPs wasted (technically 12, but each of these units did pretty well over quite a number of games while still at vet 2)... But now all the vet 2 units I used to have (mostly sapper PIATs) have whittled away and now I never buy vet... It's not worth it... I'd rather unlock those new off-maps...

I've actually just stopped adding vet to my infantry and here's why: While vet may seem useful for riflemen - In the long run.. all riflemen ever need to complete their usefulness is hit suppressive fire and throw a grenade. It hardly requires they be vetted to do this. Quite frankly.. Riflemen survivability is so low its quite a waste. In order to win games as Americans you need to make sacrifices(Many Amer. players don't know this), and as an Armored player your main source of sacrifice is riflemen.

vet=makes you loosing games

1. ppl tend to babysitting their vet units
2. ppl tend to retreat way to early
3. ppl tend to play to defensively
4. with advantages and more doctrine abilities (more uses for pp) you can use the pp for more usefull stuff
5. you can try out more factions and doctrines and company build without relying onto shitload of exp and pp to vet a company up

i think Vet should just go back to the old way, just earn it on the field.. screw paying for it..   I did at 1 time have 3 vet 3 rangers... all 3 lasted at least 3 games... 1 was 1 shot killed by gamesguys hummel.. full squad, 1 hummel round right on it and gone..

another was behind the lines as i just called him in and was waiting to see where to put them, out of the blue behind him comes a panther, ostwind and a puma.. like they knew he was there and well, nothing i could do, insta kill.. 3rd one i just let die, he was attacked by 4 KCH squads, i just let him sit and fight, he killed 3 of them but the 3rd got him...

i never get any battle advantages, i see them pop up but i get no tp points to choose them... so thats gay..   only because i have used this company since Eirr was created, others delete theirs etc to get that stuff lalalalala.. and ya, i dont have a on map howi anymore, i just spend the pp for 5 off maps... less effective, but it does free 400mp and 160 fuel for more stuff..

well, i forgot to mention the vet3 rangers where in cover, and have aquired a bren and a Mg42 along with their smgs, this was before you had to put zooks on them..
