Yes! You guys should really sign up in the forums.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the darkness at Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time like tears in rain. Time to die.

http://forum.medpackstudios.com/index.php

We will be supporting all generic companies and platoons, including Sicherungs, Volksgrenadier and Luftwaffe Jäger companies.

Please divert any further questions to the forums so we can answer them there! Smiley

Dafuq man, don't ask for proof if you'll refuse it if it's not in your favor, logic fallacy for the bloody win.

As mentioned earlier, Sturmhaubitze (who made the original FE) and I have joined forces. Smiley

A list of all the companies we plan to include has been posted, check out the news forum.

I won't be coming to these forums any more, so if you're interested and have time, register in ours:

Hope to hear from some of you there. Smiley

Epic bump! I've decided to start updating this thread again, as I believe our mod is catered more to this audience than most casual COH players. The first post has been updated with current information and some new links. Future updates will be posted and linked within this forum.

Is there a way to create spoiler boxes in this forum?

We're a relatively small group of people, so we'd like to avoid setting a date in stone because we don't want to disappoint anyone. With that said, we have a time frame in mind, and hopefully we can get something in the hands of the public in the near future. Smiley

Thanks! For how small our team is, we've gotten a lot of work done. We just accepted Mirage Knight on to our team, so hopefully he and our other RGD worker (Escforreality) can knock out what's left unit-wise. Other than that, it's on me to get our website and SCAR done, and for Sturmhaubitze to work on his realism systems.

Hi eliw00d,

I do some wargamming in my spare time up to battlaion level and have a few resources on written company builds from different periods as well as actual company builds:

i.e it mite say that a company strength was 180 men but realistically it was about 60 for germany post 1943.

Got good details on heavy support platoons etc as well just let me know if you need them and I will email them to you.

Also I can help out with testing and MySQL got a dual degree in information Technology/Engineering majoring in software engineering so farily good at coding. Im interested at the realism aspect you got going in your initial design would definitely play it and help to bring it to fruition whether with tactical discussion (especially real world ww2 army doctrines), penetration of certain guns on vehicles etc.

Cheers,

PeteWinny

@PeteWinny,

Feel free to send whatever information on company builds you think we could use, there's always more out there that we may not know about!

Currently, one of our hurdles is gunnery and how we should apply it. Mostly just shot placement from the battery/troop/section after ranging in is successful. We have some pretty good documentation on American and British artillery methods, but not so much German.

Outside of that, we aren't really looking for additional members or testers. If that changes, I'll make a post about it. We have been doing a lot of internal testing and hope to have a stable build when we release our public alpha.

@Nevyen

Well, I've read that the British deployed their guns in troops of 4, and would range with the No. 1 and No. 2 guns. It also said that the barrels of the guns would be parallel to each other, so I'm assuming that the rounds would come down in a sort of line parallel to the gun line. But what about the entire battery, would they place their rounds on the same line?

So, just basic gunnery really. Anything about ranging and firing on a target and how the rounds would be dispersed during each phase (generally) would be good information to have.

Also, British ranging shots generally took place between 30 and 60 seconds. After ranging, the British would generally have a set number of rounds at an interval (I read 10 or 30 seconds). What about American, German and Russian?

This link Ive used in the past is really useful

http://www.poeland.com/tanks/artillery/artillery.html

This is a set of table top rules but the section on artillery doctrines will give you an insight into the relationship between the battery and FO for the major nations as well as approaches to artillery missions.
http://www.fireandfury.com/artillerytutorial/artytut.shtml

not a bad site for the british,

should give you a good understanding on the british seeing it important to drop rounds quickly

http://www.lonesentry.com/manuals/fm6-20-artillery/index.html

FM 6-20: Tactical Employment Field Artillery Field Manual, War Department, February 5, 1944

That says it all really

this is from my favorites list under WW2 there is other stuff but these ones are pretty good for what I think your looking for.

PM me if you want other stuff and Ill see what i can dig up for you.

Cheers
