I'll give it a shot, I really loved MoO and MoO2. I also played an online game called Battlecorp while it was still free and it was turn based and alot of fun. this shouldn't be too complicated.

Jesus, having played this game for an hour now I have to say it really reaches way up there to compete with the Watch-Paint-Dry Supremacy and Observe-Grass-Grow Supremacy games which we all know as enjoyable classics. This game is slower than a stoned snail falling in a John Woo movie.

Shit I'm pretty sure you could offer the guy a cup of coffee and he'd try to kill you with the mug if you forgot sugar.
That's like offering Beer to fuck the fat chick. It will work for a while, but it's not gonna last. Not only that, but there is zero motivation for the Fat chick to loose weight.

Haha... Game is too slow only when u have 1 planet.
Once you have several star systems you can not micromanage them all yourself in 1 hour turn. You have to use governors.
And game is much faster once you have empire rolling. You can wake up one morning and see half of your empire gone or that you are almost sole survivor.
Game is great though, playing against humans on massive scale space empire building game is so much fun. All those backstabing and pseudo-honor.
BTW premium galaxies (which have several spots for non payers) introduce much more customization and fun.

I joined a few days ago, yes its slow but hey while your waiting for your stacked gamne to start, lol why not create an empire and conquer the galaxy. I tend to sort it all out inbetween games seem to work quite nice.
JOIN GALAXY 6 people. And then post your names so ingame we can make an The Noob Aliance.

It's not intended to be what you spend your time on, it's something you can manage before work and after work or before bed sort of thing. I don't find it all that bad. I wish the Stationed Military system was easier to use, you can't transfer Marines from 1 planet to another until you have a transport built... and the crew recruited form the place that built it!
I could only get into Galaxy 7 and it starts in 3 days or something

I could share basic insight into galactic expansion.
Food - is most prescious substance in the know universe. Food grants citizens and by default each citizen produces 10 income. Income can speed up production, buy rescources and sustain empire. So build farms, build many and early. When colonizing, choose food rich planets 1st.
I got into 1st war... After many silly looses by not combining ships into fleets. I'm finnaly bombing his planets into oblivion.
