I thought the RoF decrease was supposed to be significant? Right now tanks can defend themselves pretty well while they are repairing. I had my sherman being fought off by a immobile p4 repairing. When a tank is repairing it needs to be unable to defend itself or the whole thing becomes a "I Heal LockDown Mode".

took my FF about 7 shots to kill a panther that had started repairing at 25% health, lucky I was out of range so it was a free kill.

Still, the P4 was shooting fast as well. I've had immobilized shermans fighting off shrek halftracks too.

I think repair kits should repair about 20% slower, and main gun should be disabled (so .50s and such would still fire), BUT you should be able to turn off the ability. That way if you didn't fall back far enough, you aren't forced to be a sitting duck.

It's a new system, so I would think they are still going to be tweaking it.

i find no issue with this personally. Heck, sometimes i damage a tank so it'll run bacsk to heal, th en bring up an at gun to snipe at it while it's immobile. Also, it can' tmove....get on its ass and pop it. Bring an at gun, rangers, hit it with artillery, something, dont try to go head to head like i've seen some do.

Leave the gun active.  Its imobile so it still has to get out of combat, but it still neededs to be able to defend itself.  Just because there is a repair crew workign ona  tank, does not mean the gunner sits back and takes a smoke break....

@Puddin: Right, the gunner isn't taking a break/helping repair so that's why the gun can still fire. However, the driver and loader, possibly commander should be working on repairs. Right now it doesn't seem like the loader is doing that.

As you can clearly see, nobody is actually working the repairs.

The tank has a nanotech repair kit, the nanobots spread out over its surface, using materials found in the local area to repair, hence why it sits still.

The way it is now is supposed to be reduced rate of fire, but it apparently isn't or it's extremely minimal. Nobody is saying the gunner should help repairs. But the loader should be, hence slower RoF.

I don't recall there being any sort of RoF decrease for the Repair Ability.. so this is purely an oversight and not a bug.

yeah the RoF decrease is good, perhaps however the time taken to repair should be increased.  Currently it's repairing at a pretty fast rate, which compensates the tank for its loss of RoF, maybe it should take 30 seconds-1 minute longer for repairs to happen, after all, in EiR pre 006 it took much longer to repair.

That seems fair, but I would say, make so that every or nearly every hit will penetrate because you should be in a safe area when you decide to heal your tank like you did in old patch, leaving it in the middle of the battlefield shouldn't be awarded, expecially considering heavy armor tanks like panthers/tigers/pershings/king tigers.
