A quote from salan so you don't flame me about this and think I'm coming up with this or that I'm for this. I'm just trying to create feedback and help the dev team make a decision on it.

btw, the 4 man bar squad, who would that be fore? What's your guys thinking on that.

its a unit i created as a concept unit, I need to test it and see how it would work and what not to be able to understand if its even needed or useful or not over powered, who knows we may never see it.

If anyone can put the stats together what 4 rifles with a BAR each would be like in terms of damage.

My own personal opinion. I think it could be quite powerful and would need to be limited to like 2-4 just like any elite infantry. BAR's can be quite powerful and they'd be used much like FG42's (but they have higher DPS)

http://www.coh-stats.com/Zaxis/mgs/

but of course low suppression but 4 BARS I dunno where the suppression would be.

Dafuq man, don't ask for proof if you'll refuse it if it's not in your favor, logic fallacy for the bloody win.

Oi i said it was a test squad i made because i wanted to test see how it would turn out.  It has access to grenades but no suppression fire nor stickies.

From feed back in the 'cool' thread as well as talks we are having I started to create test beds to see what we could do that wouldn't be TOO op.

I personally would rather see 4 bars on riflemen rather then 4 thompsons, riflemen are too flimsy to close in, and the assault infantry cliche is owned by the axis..

fire support team bravo, go!

meh..

Yea, I put what you said about it in quotes. I just always think its nice to get feedback on new ideas and brn said go ahead and make a thread on it if you want so...Cheesy

Sounds awesome. I'm gonna have to start coming up with some ideas maybe. Personally, I'd love to see engineers/pios be able to buy satchels (for clearing obstacles like tank traps)

Honestly, if your looking for a fire support team idea for the allies, i would prefer seeing something like "the stinger" instead of a 4 BAR squad.

There's a model in world builder for a manpacked browning 50cal, or you could just use the model off a sherman. Im sure it wouldnt be too hard to model if given the time.

Indeed, there is a model for the .30 cal where the crew would have to fire from prone position.

Ooh...yea that would be awesome. You can man-pak the .30 cal in CoD: WaW. I'd love to see that but wouldn't it just basically be the same thing as lmg's.

The "wtf is that shit" was a bugged off map that didn't produce any explosion but it killed some infantry squads lol...

The prone .30 cal is bugged out - someone already tried to implement it in a mod, it failed horribly, there's a video up on youtube about it.

In my opinion, 4 man BAR squads would hardly be OP. I've had 4 man rifle squads with 4 BARs - even with suppression fire still on them, they were still quite indeed fail - even when put into cover.

If they got a slight health increase... Or more benefits from cover - such as significantly improved accuracy(Bipods style)... Maybe... (OFC suppresion fire removed).

could easily give them an improved cover bonus from the vet... hmm i just want to test them as base riflemen first Smiley

Can we get some new infantry on the PE side too?

Only Luft gets something that effectively counters elites other than AB.
