I just like to respond to this as I was the one who brought up the suggestions for these specific balance changes with the other developers:
Seriously can someone explain the dev ideology of what an Airborne Riflemen (limited to 4 in quantity) is supposed to be? Do we land an occupy a house until a Stuh levels it? Do we land and assault a mortar or pak? (on No, we would need grenades for that?) What the heck is an Airborne Riflemen supposed to be. Just get rid of the unit?
I have actually been running an AB account extensively these last few weeks, so no this has nothing to do with any bias whatsoever but is based on unit statistics and in game experience. (While playing airbourne mind you)
1. 'Riflemen AB' are an identical copy to other AB units stat wise. There is absolutely no reason why their grenades should be cheaper than those of standard AB troops. So why would you get them? Because they are a platform allowing you additional 'air dropped' units with the potential of crippling and/or suppressing all enemy unit types.
2. Stickies + Fire up is a very powerful combination, there's units in the game that can not easily escape from this, even in the hands of a good player. Hence why they needed a price increase over regular riflemen stickies. You can not argue that there was no need for a price discrepancy. At 95 Mun and 4 uses they're still well worth the investment.
210 MUNITIONS is grippling to spend on one inf unit even if you can only field four
You spend 170 Mun on a fully upgraded riflemen squad, that's only 40 Mun more for the same upgrades on a much more reliable and desirable platform. (Fire-up being why these upgrades need to be more expensive than on standard riflemen)
We are continuously monitoring balance and will be actively fine-tuning.
Bren carrier to 215 health. Who wants to get their BC one-shotted by the cloaked pak? This, for more popcap, and a higher cost, with a punier gun and less carried infantry than an IHT?
The price will likely be going down again, its price being the exact same as before the nerf is not intended.
