I had a 3v3 today on Chateau, and in the launcher we forgot to change it from allied attack, but when we got into the game it was axis attack.  Despite it being axis attack, my team still had 4 minutes of deploy time.  I think this has something to do with Fatherland Fortification getting confused because the game was set to allied attack but there came the game turned out to be axis attack.  I highly doubt that this is a feature of fatherland fortification since this gives the attacking team no advantage (besides maybe wasting a recon run from the other team).  There was a sync-error later about 15 min into the game, but I'm not sure if that had anything to do with this bug or not.

The new attack/defense system gives the defenders 2/3/4/5 minutes to defend for 1v1-4v4.

Oh ok, forgot about that change.

Our timers said 4 min, but after the 3 min mark it gave the usual "our boys have arrived" message.

K then it's not a bug lol.

yeah had this happen today as well, was strange, i didnt even know about the timer change in the first place, so i was extra confused!
