Just wondering, how are people chosen to be helpers?  Is it based on skill level?  Inside connections?  Butt-kissing?  Bribery?

Do you really need some tag to tell you to help someone or not? psshtt i never bothered to ask and i have loads of people to voach that i help nubs.

You want to help, you become a helper, it's that simple. You don't need too much to be one..

The Helper tag makes it easier for newbs to seek people willing to teach.

I assume you are talking about FlashStepFlame?, yeah, he has been working on his own mod for MoW for over a year I think.

I've already had it removed after I discociated myself from the dev team and balance advisory team.

In my case, I got the helper tag after helping out many many noobs, writing a few guides and just providing help for the mod. All I had to do was ask to get the helper tag - it's not like the tag is actually much useful : you just get a beacon with which you indicate to noobs and old players alike that you can provide help, or direct them to someone that can help.

Anyone should be able to become a helper if they have played a war, but if you abuse any of those very meager benefits you get from having it (like moderation rights on vent) of course you should be pwned for it.

Now the title of mentor like me and bob have, that's like the all-season pass to glory

If your vent tag is a seasons pass is my vent tag a lifetime membership? Does that mean I can power abuse?
