Yes, but if you have AT backing up your sniper, like you always should, this isn't that much of a problem. It's more useful to guard against stormies rather than hunt snipers. I'd still rather use my jeeps.
Also, the vamp for PE is waaaaay more useful in that regard, much much bigger zone and you can see infantry in the fow, you cant' do that with scouting for armor
But vamp can't shoot nor defend itself any possible way. And most of the units it spots- are in the FoW but using tac map you can see the unit spesifications. If it showed ATGs and vehicles it'd be kewl
It shoes mortars and hmgs when they pack up.
Vampire needs to set up to use it's awareness, tymmie. And far less cloaking units on the allied side to protect oneself from.
dont try and be a smart ass and condescending by calling my tymmie so what if it needs to be set up, it has a huge awareness that you can use to see infantry in the fow, and it gets this huge awareness for free! no pp cost, no muni cost.
It's only for armor it's a 30 (used 2 b 50) pp unlock and 20, 25 and 30 munitions to use, and it's all within the units sight line already. yes it's useful in hunting down sniper and storms, but it's horrid against paks because the paks sight is 30/35ish and the awareness is 30 so you can't hung paks efectively. Then with the lightvehicles, stormschrecks have 35 range, so that's within the 30 awareness rage of the t-17, m8, quad and halftrack and just 5 out of the range of the jeep.
and the vamp is better, and for all PE factions, and it's better especially since you will usually go up against a mass of infantry as axis anyway, so being able to see infantry blobs coming before you can actually see them sight wise is a huge boon other just being able to see cloaked units.
