tbh the old implementation where it decrewed/half healthed the weapon of a 57mm didnt bother me much

It NEVER one-shot howitzers, lionel - it had 200 damage.

The discussion was sparked when demon and another one of his blitz friends(computer?) used DOUBLE precision strikes to insta-gib howitzers, which was misinterpreted by someone(I do believe it was you) as using just 1.

Unless it critted or did something, I had replays that clearly showed it was a SINGLE precision and had asked it be looked into to be fixed.  It did instant gib howitzers and ATGs, I have no issue with crew killing but losing 3 howies in a single game to nothing to precision strikes... you're telling me they used 6 offmaps, all timed perfectly between players where the smoke and shots all overlap and come in at the exact same moment and both explosions are hidden in one?

There was never any kind of critical that would allow the precision strike to do that, lionel - and yes, in the same thread that I'm referring to these people did respond saying they DID use 6 offmaps to kill your 3 howitzers.

Even though I play British, I do agree that precision is pretty useless as it is. It seems to me that giving it the same timing and amount of smoke as VCoH firestorm, but making it only drop a single, supremely accurate firestorm round would be fair...

Or we assume napalm strike is this cool new idea gamesguy thought of that introduces progressive fires into the CoH engine, which drop down the single rocket with the napalm, which then begins spreading and eventually burns the entire map in a hellish inferno.

That's why it first needs to be discussed by the balance advice board before actually being implemented.
