This thread is an old one. Yet there has still been No fixing or whatsoever considering this thread's point. Arguments are given, minimal changes has been done. It is time to reopen it into discussion. The First Post contains everything you need to know. Posts afterwards are either trollage posts or posts with arguments.

Because a forum post should be like a woman's skirt. Long enough to cover the subject material, but short enough to keep things interesting.

To me the issue is very much similar to PE's lack of decent non vehicle anti tank, its just one of those problems that will never be addressed, because a few people who dont use said units dont think there is an issue.

Just play wher and US, they are better anyways.

I can't consider this as a post that belongs to a balance thread.

Just by reading the last sentence: "Just play wehr and us they are better anyways." doesn't fix the problem the units have. I don't want these sort of posts here. I want posts that means something and has a point. ARGUMENTS in short why a mobile pieces HAS to be that much more expensive when they share the exact same role with cheaper pieces.

I know, im sorry for the not so constructive post, i just get jaded, after arguing this point in vent, in the launcher and on the forums to no avail, i guess I have given up.

TBH i havent seen the priest used in a long time, but ive been using the hummel recently and seen it used and imo its generally a waste of pop, even when its vet 3 with incendiary shells, it rarely kills more than a few rifles in a game. I honestly think both should have the same damage, spread, AOE and all the attack characteristics of the howie( not range), though more expensive ofc due to the whole moving thing. Its not really mirroring since they have different doctrine abilities that affect them.

The problem with both the priest and the hummel is they are rubbish without doctrine buffs...which is wrong, a unit should be able to stand alone to some degree.

Hummels are of particular concern to me because they cost more than Priests, while their only advantage is range (which makes them godawfully inaccurate, because the further you fire the less accurate you are). They fire two less shells than all other howitzers and those shells are actually weaker (having less splash) than the shells of all other howitzers, despite the misconception that they are more powerful because they have a special extra-big explosion. It's also very slow, being King Tiger speed while the Priest is Tiger speed. The Hummel should be reduced to be at least equal to what the Priest costs, if not less than.
