Ok I'm a little new to the whole site but just so everyone knows I am a college student extremely interested in game design.
I was just wondering if the whole team or anyone extra ever thought of creating a sort of campaign map for this. It doesn't necessarily have to be interactive but it would be cool to see how each side is doing on a territorial level.
Then once that was accomplished you could make it interactive from a command standpoint, meaning that each player would be given his rank and forces in a particulary army/detachment. Then you could have the people logged in shown on the front lines and use this GUI to initiate battles.
It was just a thought and right now I don't have the knowledge to do any of it but I wanted to see what people would think of my idea.

Hi, first of all, let me welcome you. Glad you found us. Second of all, yes, having a war map is on our feature list and very much on our radar. However, it takes a lot to get one up and so the only thing we need is more time.

here are some problems i see with the current system...(if it was implemented with the world map today)
I think that the Availability of units should be like ww2 online and be based off what factories u hold and what ur leaders want to put into higher production
TAV totally needs to be changed there is no chance of a 2v1 defence winning with this system I suggest that TAV instead of limiting u to a set amound of resources plus bonuses needs to be made less effective.. ex: It looks at ur company and instead of limiting has a limited limiting ability, If ur company dook heavy loses and has very low TAV the resources high command supplies u with will take a +% buff to help ur company, If u are way higher then u should be with TAV ur resources highcommand supplies will be slightly -%ed....
EX: High command supplies all companies evenly every day based on factories (efficency will add to what u get supplied wiht) High command like HOI2 can choose to give certain key armies (pending 2v1s) a 10-20% resource bonus.
EX of system: because i dont have time to put all 3 of COH resources in this i will simplify it and only deal with mun
i am giving 1800 mun to make a base army at start of war I am givin a supply of 4 resupplies at 300 mun a piece for the day (end of day is when resupplies are sent to my company to be used the next day) lets say that after the first day with no resupplies my TAV is 1000 mun....becuase this is low the TAV system puts in a formula which times my next resuply by 2.5 because my company is in such a low state, my tav is now 1750.... The next battle i lose no forces so my TAV stays at 1750, the system because i am so close to starting times my recources to a -% i get 200 mun My tav is now 1950 I win a battle and get spoils puttimg me at 2000 mun The tav system seing this only gives me 50 for my next resupply so i get 2050 ( it wont allow me to get over a certian amount without efficency which limits company size. in this case if i have well over 1800 munitions it wont add on anymore than 50 additonal mun for a resupply unless i or my commanders grants me efficency
EX: a pending battle is agianst me where 2 allied companies are going to attack my sector. High command saw this threat ahead of time so they increased my efficencies temperarly to 10%
so if i have 1800 mun i will get 330 instead of 300 for my next reupply
The reasoni am showing this system is because company size diferences should be allowed to a certain degree
EX: i see a high ranking allied commander instead of doing a 1v1 we battle a 2v1 to help agianst his big company..
without this unbalanced battles will not work and will always end in a loss for the side with less ppl

Thtb, it is literally impossible to add the funcionality you are requesting without going and modifying the company of heroes code directly.. It cannot be done.
