we do scatter reduction vet over at OMG for our arty pieces, its simple enough. the only issue is you can only change the max scatter value on the fly (more precise methods requiring an ability or weapon swap), but generally that's enough

A quick check at the OMG Wiki tells me that your veterancy is reducing the scatter for the artillery piece that has it, not increasing the scatter of enemy offmaps and artillery. A bit of a difference there.

Oh, and I also noticed the vet 4 and vet 5 icons you guys have while looking that up, the Axis vet 4 looks freakin' sweet!

Can't wait until vet 4 and 5 in EiRR so we can get some awesome vet icons here.

I do like the PE inspired offensive/defensive approach. Very good and worth discussing.

ah, misunderstood.

well, in that case you could do it through player upgrades, have the original 'NOT' require it, and the improved one require it.

glad you like the icons, they took long enough to make =P

I'd like to see that with US and Wehr companies. Triple vet offensive sniper FTW!

I was thinking of something else also

What if the units could also gain sort of 'achievements' for specific tasks like :

'hero' -  kill 2 soldiers with your last man in squad  (your hero soldier gets +5 weapon damage in next game)

defensive soldiers - kill a squad from behind a cover (whole squad gets +20 hp in the next game)

Have something like 5-6 some of them .

So you can have for example  vet 2 squad with extra bonuses.

I doubt it's possible to track that.

or have vet that affects all artillery pieces on the field's scatter, i think thats possible.

that's a bit much tbh but it could be possible.

its possible since the game sends updates to the server every 3-5 minutes. Maybe not as in depth as nugx suggests but it's possible to have achievements via warmap/launcher

"I have proof!"
"Whatever, I'm still right"

Dafuq man, don't ask for proof if you'll refuse it if it's not in your favor, logic fallacy for the bloody win.

What nugnug suggests for the "hero" thing is utterly impossible, since the code does not track how many men are left in a squad, nor even individual men - but only if a squad is alive or not(talking about the EiRR code).

Tracking if the kills are made from behind cover is also something that's quite impossible. Even if it were - the achievement bonus would have to be applied right there and now, because the EiRR code only takes into account how much exp was gained in the match - not how many kills and of what type were made.
