for some reason its saying me that either my username or password is incorrect although i triple checked both i even made a second account and will still say its incorrect

You register an account for the launcher there, When you have done that you use that account to log in to the launcher.

i havent played fore allmost half a year.

Yea, there was a Launcher wide Wipe of everything not that long ago.
Everyones stuff got wiped off so you are going to have to register again.
once done that you can go play EIR.
