Armored Recon is one of the most underrated T4's in EiR.  What it does, in essence, is 'force' the midgame very early.  I can't tell you how many times the Axis player has been forced to bring in heavy armor (Panther/Tiger) without support very, very early.  This is why, when used effectively, Armored Recon can end the game within 18 minutes.  With 15 population over the Axis player at the start (24 vs. 39) it only gets worse as time goes on.  With the +3 pop per tank, it isn't uncommon to have +20 population over other Allied players, +26 over Axis.  In the RtC replay I had 60/61 on the field whereas Soviet had 39/40, and the two Axis players only had a max of 34.

Sounds a lot like the Reverse Blitzkrieg (real WWII) for some reason.

*shrug*. Guess it works that way.

I WAS ARMOURED RECON FIRST!

It really makes armoured company, an Armoured company. Nothing quite like having more tanks on the field than the Axis have in their whole army.

Switching to Airborne, but this is yet another game.  Don't enjoy, just watch for fuck's sake.  I'm sick and tired of getting yelled at for using 'imba' strategies when that is the entire REASON I put this fucking topic here in the first place.  Greyhounds need a price increase, to 60-70 I'd say.

Game number: 778

We should ask fldash to look into the shells from both tanks & AT going right through the m8, that's a major problem right there.

I believe it's an issue because of Relic disabling tank friendly fire.  Right?

Why they did that, I have no idea.  I thought it was a beautiful feature...

It was removed because it was unfair to the Axis with Panzersheck friendly fire apparently.

It's a part of the "improved AI".
Often tanks get shot by friendlytanks, then players blamed the shitty tank AI and relic must've figured it's far easier to just turn off friendly fire on tanks... :/

Can we turn it back on?
I think it's a charming feature and while possibly frustrating at times it does lead to beautiful gameplay situations and unexpected turners Tongue.

Either way, with the 9s to 7s change on the m8s gun I would at least suggest raising the cost a good amount for the time being.

Agreed.

At least bump it to make the Greyhound cost Munitions, the upgunned Puma costs at least as much + muni.
