There's no side armour, only front and rear. If you hit the side towards the rear it'll count as a rear hit though.

Side armor is not modelled in this game as Unkn0wn said. The tank is divided into more or less roughly equal 50% front 50% back. A hit to the rear 50% of a tank counts as a rear armor hit the majority of the time (sometimes more or less of a tank counts as the "rear 50%" than 50%).

We are serious about enforcing this, and I am sure you all want to be able to have your balance thought considered by the development team with some biased, sensationalist coming into your thread and ruining it.

If someone was to edit the model and make more armour types would that be possible? Or is it not possible to make more armour type entries or something?

yea side armor is 50% front and  50% rear so you have a 50/50 chance of getting either a front or rear hit.

Dafuq man, don't ask for proof if you'll refuse it if it's not in your favor, logic fallacy for the bloody win.

It actually works fine as is, giving you an increase in damage thats not as high as straight rear hits.

Top and Bottom are also divided up into the 50/50 split.

Think of it like this:

Blue for front armour, Red for Rear.

Things with arcs (such as PIATs) often arc over and hit a vehicles rear armor. Bombing runs have a 200% damage modifier, to represent hitting the vehicles top armor (though the 2x modifier is in effect even if it doesn't hit the tank).
