Revised Forum Guidelines
This is not a democracy, your say doesn't matter if I/the other mods say that it doesn't. You are guests in my house, per se, and will act accordingly. Your ability to exist and participate as a part of this community is a privilege, not a right. I am a benevolent dev who rose through EiR, and that includes your standard trolling, shitposting, and casual racism. I'm not a graying neckbeard mod, but that doesn't mean you should try to push your luck. Old-timey EiR players' opinions and insights will be weighted more heavily than that of newer players. Your opions will not be outright ignored, but theirs will be made with the benefit of years of experience within the mod.
Infractions: 1st strike: 1-day posting ban
2d strike: 30-day posting ban
3d strike: Permanent forum, launcher, and Discord ban based on IP address.
Senior/"OG" players will be granted immunity from the 3d strike and will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis. If this seems like nepotism, that's because it is.
1 - Respect (for the devs) Devs will be treated with absolute respect. Ass-kissing is always welcome, but isn't a demand. That said, if you take a bat to the wasp's nest, expect a rapid and overwhelmingly unpleasant response.
2 - Politics Keep political commentary light. This is a personal peeve of mine (TheVolskinator's) and will be closely monitored. Bashing a nation's leader, governing body, laws, policies, and global interactions are acceptable (within reason). Initiating flame wars by slinging political rhetoric around is absolutely unacceptable. Keep it civil, perferably within its own self-contained political thread in the Off-topic section of the forum.
3 - Racism Racism of any kind is utterly unacceptable. Violation of this rule will result in an instant, permanent ban within whatever medium it was predicated (racist forum post -> forum perma-ban).
4 - Trolling, flaming, and baiting... Flaming/baiting is prohibited. Flaming is the act of attacking another member of the community; this just isn't ok. This is too small of a community to start witch hunts or force members out. Personal insults will not be tolerated. Offending posts will be edited to eliminate the personal attacks. If you've got a beef with someone, take it to PMs or Discord. If it shows up on the forum, especially within the confines of an otherwise-civilized thread, it'll count as an infraction.
5 - Have a dispute? If you encounter activity that may have been deemed inappropriate in Europe in Ruins, please only post about it in the EiR Disputes Forum and follow the guidelines for that forum.
6 - No smurfing. Each member is allowed one forum account. You must use the same forum account name for your launcher account. To be clear: one forum account, one launcher account. You may name your companies whatever you'd like so long as it's not blatantly racist or otherwise totally unacceptable. Non conformance will result in the deleting of all companies and accounts.
7 - Images Memes, used properly and in moderation, are fine. Don't overdo it. Posting images of other EiR members IRL without their express permission is forbidden and will result in an instant forum perma-ban.
8 - NSFW Totally unacceptable. This is a forum for a mod set in a WWII RTS game, not the comment section of a Pornhub video. Underage/jailbait content will result in an instant forum, launcher, and Discord perma-ban.
