fixed, a temp fix.. but, i had to reinstall windows, and no where can i find my code for Gold, how do i go about getting the serial code again?  asked at the COH page and so on and no response.

save C:\Users\...\Documents\My Games\Company of Heroes\ folder next time and u will be able to run CoH without reinstall.

Where did you buy your COH?

I don't know why you'd need your keycode, your RO account carrying the code will still be there.
Just don't enter a keycode on install, or enter a cracked key. (Then log in using your legit RO account)

well if shit hits the fan completely and you cant find a solution  then i guess i can give you one of the extra accounts that i have.

AFAIK you don't even need a working code to install, or may not even need to enter one at all. Just need your relic login when you launch the game.

well i had to reinstall windows, new pc, new mb and hd...

so i have to reinstall the game... and i dont have the paper with the serial code...

perhaps i should do steam

NO, that didn't work for me when I tried to reload. When it tries to patch it get s all fucked up.

Somewhere in here is a post I made with the step by step I had to do to get it working. It really is a fucked up fix.

I tried everything everybody suggested here and it did not work.

HERE IS WHAT WORKS

Step 1 - Install ToV
Step 2 - Download this :http://www.filefront.com/17208542/Desktop.7z

Make sure it is put in C:\mydocuments\companyofheroes\patch. If you just run CoH after this step it WILL NOT WORK

Step 3 - You must go here:http://cohpatch.relic.com/
Step 4 - Download all the patches under ToV

Make  sure the patches are in your C:\mydocuments\companyofheroes\patch

Step 5 Run each patch in order

Run Coh - Done!!!

I've never had a problem with it working with Steam, always patched perfectly fine. You can also never lose your CD key 'cause steam will tell you it if you want (unless you lose your Steam account...).

The mod will work with just vCoH but you won't be able to pick OF factions in-game which, from what I hear, means that you'll still be able to play Brits/PE but won't have any voices for them, won't be able to use global abilities, and won't be able to open build menus to build anything.

ya, iam not worred about vcoh, just the mod.. so if i get regular coh and download from Steam i should be able to play mod ok?

Yes, buying from Steam is an alternative method to buying from stores. It'd be completely pointless if they didn't give you a CD key, because then you'd be unable to play the game you just bought.

Everything I was saying was about the mod, not vCoH. If you only buy the original game, you'll run into a few problems while playing as new factions. From what I've heard around these forums, anyways, I have no first hand experience with that.

Again, you don't need to buy a new copy if you have a fully working RO account with the two or 4 factions. Just use someone's CD key for the install, then log in on your RO account like you usually would.

It really doesn't matter what cd key you use to install, all that matters is your RO account which is tied to a certain CD key.
