[How-to]Cool loading screens

Hey, I am in the process of adding loading screens to my maps and I was wondering if anyone had suggestions for how to photoshop the images so they look more like the relic loading screens? I tried adding grain and noise, but it isn't the same.

Make the edges black/blurry and make the loading screen look greyish/dark overall.
Just open some relic ones for reference.

Are there any filters or tricks that work particularly well? I am only familiar with PS basics. Also, does this mean you are back from your trip to Canada, Ukn0wn?

Figured it out! The trick is to add a white layer on top of the image, cover it in random grunge or industrial type brush stamps (I used ones from
this site
)and then turn down the opacity. Then I added a clear layer and put some of the same brush stamps at about 20% opacity and flow. Here is the result:

Now that I've figured out how to do it, if anyone wants help making a cool loading screen for their custom map, just post in this thread with the screenshot you want to use for the screen.

This picture would be nice as a loading screen. Work your magic, Kolath.

Thanks, Kolath. I like it a lot. Now if only I could figure out why my map won't hate me...
